Default Might be rolling 1 druid in my team

Doing some av yesterday. I went to bal like i usually do (gear is getting better so dropping her in 1 minute if a tank and healer is there, my pally isn't geared enough yet) and after we kill bal a druid whispers me saying to put me in the sham party for the 5% crit buff. At first i was like WTF, i like having all the toons in the same group (so i can see the mana and health), but i caved in and took the pally out and put him in. He was smart he put his toon on follow with my shams, which kept everyone together (everyone probably thought i was 6 boxing), but omg that 5% crit always there was incredible and when i dropped my 4 totems that 17% crit was seen by alliance. lol. So now here is the big problem, i don't want to 6 box. I basically want to do pve (only doing pvp for gear, and to laugh when i 2 shot people). Now i have 4 shams and 1 pally tank. Who should i take out?

I haven't really done any heroic or instances at lvl 70 because been doing dailies to save to epic fliers and bg grind for gear. I bring the pally to av, for 2 reasons, 1 why not get honor i am there anyways, 2 stun. With a druid i have roots and cyclone, which would replace stun. I know shams are losing the stack ability, but half the time i am fighting the alliance without totems down and when i grind dailies i don't drop anything.

Pally out, will lose a tank to do heroic and instances with (i know that i can probably do it with 5 dps cause people do it with 5 shams)

Sham out, will lose 1 tremor totem (there is no way i am going less then 3 tremor, cause when i dual ab and drop 2 tremor fear 60% of the time doesn't break before i get out of range of totems)

Druid plus
- roots
- cyclone
- 5% crit always on
- huge bonus: if they do, do 2 specs for each class i can have the druid's off spec tank and then i can probably do heroics

I would probably have druid at lead so when they start attacking me i can just go bear form.

What do you guys think?

I've had the same thoughts and come to the conclusion that there's no point doing anything until at least the WOTLK content patch and we see how all the talent/buff/debuff changes stack up with each other. You'd be making a decision based on data that is about to be irrelevant.

I put a druid in my shaman team and although I'm only 61 and not doing any pvp its alot of fun and I can really see the benefit of having the +crit. with imp wrath and opening with a starfire (which crits for insane amounts) the druid can usually keep agro fine since its shooting wrath bolts faster than the shamans send out thiers.

Simple: Have a druid on your pally account for PvP, keep using the pally for instances?

Thats what I do.

Non heroics are also easy enough like this, but the druid is less well geared, so heroics are tough (and I haven't practiced enough tbh).

Really impresssed with Boomkin DPS
4 shammies and a ?

I started out really happy with adding the boomkin to the team, but was ultimately dissapointed, but others have had more happy experiences.

DPS and Synergy for PvE just wasn't what I hoped it would be.....

Could you elaborate a bit on that? I'm quad-boxing Boomkin & 3 Elemental Shammies (i'm only at lvl 32 though) so I'd like to hear more about the issues you encountered.

with RAF , I say go for it

lvl a druid team and swith them out as needed. grearing each team will suck unless you 10 box them in av or somthing

I have 7 acconts so 7 boxing does work for av but 5 is key for pve

Default 4 sham + boomkin

I'm currently level 62. I already had an epiced pld on the server when I started multiboxing again. So I used 40 of my 120 grant a levels to make a boomkin. If you have never played a druid or warrior you are going to have trouble keeping threat on multiple mobs, hence why people use pld its simple strait forward multi mob tanking because that is what they are design to do, it's just easier. That being said if you understand stance dancing and threat management, it opens many possibilities.

Paladin tank
Pro:
Easy to multitank
Can easily find gear designed for tankadin (now atleast)
Prot is for tanking
blessing of salv

Con:
Fights take longer, pld needs dedicated healer, so only 3 dps, essientially you are a balanced party, not a boom boom
PvE only, not many ppl level and gear a tankadin for PvP, not saying you can't grab gear that drops for offspecs, but gearing one spec is already more time consuming than desired.

Boomkin (aka Panzerkin)
Pro: Added dps buffs
Added dps
When greared you should fly through Heroics.
Shapshifting lolz, bear form anyone?
Can be used for PvP also
OMG you are a druid you are OP
Druids are great mains. You can be a good dps'r feral or mookin, great tanks, and great healers
PvP

Con:
Not originally designed for tanking, therefore gear itemization problems.
Takes morz skillz?
No PvE drops that support this spec
You have to spend a lot of gold making your feral gear better caster or your caster gear better feral at early stages
You're better off questing for levels and not running any instances until you are 2-4 levels above the instance reqs (e.g. Ramps 62-63)
You need atleast 224 resil to make this spec work in level 70 PvE.

So if your just starting out, pld would be my first choice because gathering quest are hell and instances and good places to supplement xp. Also it's easier. You will spend enough time learning pulls and boss fights. Rather than waste the gold and time trying to make something work go with something that already has.

BUT for the end result, then boomkin in the end (wtf) would be equal if not greater return for my time (dunno about you).

Could you elaborate a bit on that? I'm quad-boxing Boomkin & 3 Elemental Shammies (i'm only at lvl 32 though) so I'd like to hear more about the issues you encountered.
I won't pretend I concentrated on it for more than about a week, but I had aspirations of running heroics and tearing up PvP with the 1 druid and 4 shaman combo. I geared up the druid with some decent quest blues, gems and enchants, as well as getting 375 LW for the crafted boomkin set. A couple of days after she hit 70, her spell dmg was as high as the shamans (who'd been 70 for about 6 weeks by that time). Her gear profile is here if you are interested:
http://eu.wowarmory.com/character-sheet.xml?r=Kilrogg&n=Floriana

I tried a few instances, and found that pulls required much more careful planning, and that the druid really didn't work as a tank, her armor was about the same as the shammies in Moonkin form, and even non heroic bosses and mobs could down her pretty quickly. I'm sure this theory of a "panzerkin" is doable to a certain extent, but my pally in a mix of blues and epics could take 3 times the beating she could. It also meant that she couldn't keep aggro, cos of all the healing she required to keep up.

I worked a fair bit on cast sequences, but despite her having slightly more spell dmg than the shammies, her dps was only at around 60% or so of the shammies.

So overall for me, it didn't feel right, things just felt more "solid" with the pally than the druid, so I got disillusioned and havent really played with her since. I'm sure others have achieved much better results through hard work, theorycrafting, pratice and determination, but if you ask me, if the 1 moonkin, 4 shammy combo was that good, it would be a lot more popular here. A quick check on the acheivements by group composition ([WoW] Group Composition Accomplishments) for this type of group doesnt even list it as a group, so it's not exactly proven itself as anything matching the potential viability of other groups.

I've since levelled a 5th shammy to 70, and because of ease of cast sequences I find this group easier, but I haven't been PvPing with them nor have I made any serious attempts at instances. My initial impressions are though, that they are easier than 1 boom, 4 shammies, but still definately harder than the pally/shammies for instancing.
