I'm sorry, but that was uncalled for. Even though he was being a jerk, there is no reason to resort to kill stealing via tapping while he attempts to pull mobs. When you resort to his childish behavior, you become no better than him. Also, if I remember correctly what you explained would be labeled under griefing (following and intentionally marking his mobs). Just please remember this the next time something such as this happens and take the high road.
I disagree. He started to steal mobs from the topic starter ... when the TS can aggro and kill 10mobs or more on his own then he has every right to do so, especially when his quest asks him too.
The only thing that would be morally wrong in my opinion is tagging a mob *only* to prevent the other player to be able to loot them or finish their quest.

When I'm farming primals in Nagrand I killsteal too. Not because I want to annoy the other players, but because I want those materials and I am way faster at killing them than the solo players. At such point it's a racing match for primals. For the other faction this usually means death of course.

The whole thing is not abut griefing but about being able to reach your goals (materials/quests/etc.).

It's personal preference, I suppose. I tend to take the high road and it usually nets me better results. Generally if I retaliate I just confirm peoples feelings that multiboxers are cheaters and dickheads. When I ignore the behavior or respond in kindness the person usually will just go away and have occasionally apologized after a they think about it a bit.

I have 3 boys of my own, a 4th on the way in November, so I am well versed in this behavior. Immature people do crap like what this guy did to the OP to illicit a reaction and when they get it they are satisfied, for a time. But the next multiboxer they encounter they will act the same way to that person.

Crushing someone like a worm for being a prick is certainly within our grasp but I get more satisfaction from the possibility that I leave each player I encounter with the impression that multiboxers are in fact a different breed, but in a good way

LOL @ the people chastising me for punishing the player by doing the same thing to him that he did to me... I don't get it but I suppose you're entitled to your opinion...

I am a VERY nice multiboxer in game. When I'm passing people in the wild, I will always heal them or 5x earth shock their mob to kill the mob for them, I never kill opposing faction if they're grey, and I never camp someone from the opposing faction unless they've already camped me. If people on my own faction whisper me or call me a loser or retard or fag or whatever, I just don't respond at all, or immediately /ignore, and I always answer intelligent questions with polite answers when people ask about how I'm multiboxing, etc.

In fact, I wouldn't have done anything to this guy at all if he just ran in and stole the mob, but the fact that he then proceeded to rub it in my face and insult me by saying "Owned" and then "learn not to multibox", and then after I called him an ass he said "LOL you pay for 5 accounts, loser", really pissed me off.

As far as wasting my time to "kill steal" his mobs, it wasn't really a waste of time at all since I needed 10 of each mob anyway, which was basically 1.5 spawns of the entire area, and then the extra 1.5 spawns I killed still dropped plenty of silver, runecloth, and netherweave, and I even got 2 green items to DE. He needed to learn a lesson and hopefully he did.

I agree with those people talking about UO and being able to kill ANYONE that is an ass...if you could kill someone on your own faction I guarantee a lot of the rudeness would go away. I played UO for a long time back when it first came out - GREAT game.

Anyway, the thread is supposed to be about ideas to get back at your own faction for being an ass to you, not to chastise me for taking an appropriate action against someone that started the entire thing by being an ass to me and then rubbing it in my face. Tagging his mobs wasn't really JUST for the benefit of hurting him, I needed the mob kills also, it just served a dual purpose by preventing him from killing anything as well. Serves him right.

I dont see the problem really. All can receive what they dish out.

If someone is being a jerk its ok to educate them a bit. Also by killstealing.

That priest should be damned thankful you couldn't kill him. He was an asshole first and got just what he deserved. Bravo and right on, OP :P

Loving the UO reminiscing. Oh how I grew to hate those two dreade words "Corp Por".

As fun as PKing and corpse looting was though, my favourite times in UO were pick-pocketing. Hanging around the real estate vendor and stealing that freshly purchased castle deed was the ultimate

Oh and to the OP, I think your actions were justifiable.

It would have been much more fun if you had a warlock that could have feared the mobs he tagged into other mobs. Creating a very exciting situation for him.

Meh. He's a holy priest. Holy priests can run away from just about anything and live.

I had a warrior tagging my potential kills last night, but I managed to get a few of them (the mobs were about three levels above my RAF group of paly tank, priest healer, mage, and two warlocks, but about five levels below his level, PVE server).

Then he piled into a group of five (two casters, three melee0, trying to keep me from getting them. I just pulled back and watched them kill him. After he died, and the three remaining mobs reset, I killed the mobs, and then rezzed the warrior, fully healed him, and buffed him up. Must have really pained him to accept the rezz. LOL

He thanked me, and left me alone after that, but I'll bet he is rethinking his "bad boxer" position. 8o
