    Default Increasing my performance

I've been trolling the forums for a few hours now and I'm niot really sure how to get rid of some lag issues with my clones.

I seem to have nearly the same spec machine as most of you happy campers but still, my clones break /follow in AV and in Cities and it's frustrating to say the least.

Currently have each WoW window minimized and with the lowest settings/resolution(even though they arent being rendered, just in case)

I also go to my control panel with alt-ctrl-del and set the priority for my main wow.exe window to High, and the other 4 to Higher than average. This really helps my FPS with the main window but still, the laaaaag.

I saw some posts about symlinking WoW folders but I spoke with someone else and they stated that it would not increase performance. I just have WoW installed once on my CPU and run it 5 times. I did find this website to be pretty useful for Vista users to free up some extra recources.

So I guess what I'm trying to say is, what steps should I take to make sure I have everything optimized so my clones dont blink all over the place as soon as 5 people come withing 20 yards.

I can post my Hardware Specs if needed but like i said before it's pretty much at par with others. quick break down, duo core 4 gigs ram, pretty sure my G-card is gforce 86 or 8800.

Tried having a laptop run 2 of my toons and linked with keyclone but i didnt like the wierd lag with just those 2. Oh how I hate the lag.

If you minimize WoW it will get nearly zero processor time and you will NOT follow well at all. It will be exceedingly frustrating and work like pooh.

    Try it without minimizing WoW.

Upgrading from 4GB to 6GB made all the difference in the world for me. Try it!

NOTE: Only do this if you have a 64 edition of windows. 32 bit only sees about 3.5g of ram.

I get a huge amount of lag too but only in Shatt and when the full av is in 1 spot.

Don't you get tons of emails about "Increasing your performance" if not i can forward you some :P

Yes, this requires a 64bit OS. For me; the upgrade (RAM & OS) was well worth it.

I haven't had any issues breaking follow but I have 3 WoW folders on 2 separate drives. I only have 4GB RAM, but do have Vista64.

    C:\Main
    C:\alt\2 & 3
    D:\4 & 5

This minimizes the HD churning which I've found to be the biggest hindrance to keeping follow. All 5 windows are visible on 2 screens, none minimized.
