Would it be possible to use these two addons at the same time?
Basically, I want Trinity for the extended macro features.. and Bartender for its ease of use in managing bars and behaviour.

Did you try?
I'd recommend Bindpad instead of Trinity for extra macros, but that's just because I don't like Trinity. Note that Bindpad cannot show it's macros on the screen like Trinity - you can only bind keys to them.

Try Macaroon, the Trinity guy's new addon. Should work with Bartender. And doesn't have Trinity's obnoxious bloat.
