When I went up to 5 boxes, I found I could run normal instances to rep grind (and kill some bosses) all on my own. Through some stubbornness I succeeded in moving through heroic Slave Pens, and killing two bosses for badges. After about 5 upgrades for the team, I'm finding that I'm clearing heroics faster and faster, which in turn are bringing in more badges of justice - to lead to more, better, gear.

    I'm loving it.

The only negative about 5-boxing is that I've found (generally) that I can do better on most fights (not bosses) with just my own 5-pack than when I add in a few friends. Also, that badge lure is very strong to keep going on all five toons, so sometimes when I *could* bring along others, I find I don't want to because I can gain badges on all five toons...

The concept of grinding or collection quest never bothered me ... go play EQ for a few years and grinding just becomes second nature
Haha, too true. I don't even flich on collection quests that are drops from mob kills, as I just fall back into EQ grind mode. The ones where you have to pick up drops from the ground are the ones that annoy me any more (the Rocket Car Parts quest in Shimmering flats made me want to poke my eyes out).

I started playing 1 toon to see how WoW was and promptly fired up my other computers and running a 5-man getting the hang of the macroing and such. I just skip collection quests and when people talk to me, I go ahead and keep it brief, but I think talking to others that are curious helps dispel any myths about multiboxing.

I dual-boxed for over a year then my wife wanted to give the game a try so I bought a 3rd copy of wow, she lost interest after a week so I started to box 3 then after about a week I went to a full 5 and have not looked back since. I could never go to less than 5 again. But it is funny how everyone notices you and follows you around, hell I kind of like the attention anyway. Its fun to go into SW and put on a show for everyone, of course you get the haters along with others but all that is is jealousy and when you call them on it they shut up real fast.

Yeah, I've 5-boxed for quite a while, it was fun up to a point, but I don't really play that much, so I eventually dropped back to 2-3, depending on my mood. It feels a lot easier to just drop in and play 20 minutes whenever you want without a lot of set up to do anything. But then, I'm not obsessed about equipment, and to a large extent just like having all classes, which I have now have on both sides, since I've only rarely used multiples of the same class.

    It's pretty normal I think
