If you scale down then you aren't going to be able to do instances as well. I like the fact I don't have to get help with instances. That is the main reason I went with 5 boxing.

    Same.

Though pounding my head on the wall trying to figure out how to fight a boss was an unintended side-effect.

I started with 3-boxing to just get the feel of it, and it took me two days to start penta-boxing myself. After that, I'm not going back. I have tank+dps+healer in my mainteam and 2 teams of hunters and mages, and for me, this is the shit, I couldn't imagine doing anything but 1 or 5. Only thing would maybe be 4 + a friend.
Currently not boxing, info below is not really relevant.

    Default 5 Box Blues

I was getting the BLAHs over 5 boxing since I am boosting my shammies. I took them out of the instances and into the sunlight for a bit the other day and now I'm excited about them again.

I love 5 boxing, but since i have just hit 60 with my team (and finished the Winterspring frostsaber rep grind) i decided to dual box some mages using the RAF scheme. this makes a refreshing change from running 5 as the whole experience just seems to be less hassle,as you only have two toons to worry about rather than 5. ( i do miss the extra fire power though and the one shotting of mobs 8) ).

at the end of the day it doesn't matter how many characters you run, just as long as you have fun doing it!

go play EQ for a few years and grinding just becomes second nature
I look back fondly on eq ... but looking back how on earth did I ever play it
I played eq from release and the ct/solB/guk camps were insane. People camping hallways for 3 non named spawns that spawned once every 24mins.

There were some good things about eq. I actually liked the random wandering ubers (usually giants) in noob zones and the fact that mobs chased forever. The complete lack of bigwigs/dbm. heck people raided on modems and didn't even use voice comms.

    Done with wow (for now)
Looking for a new game (probably EQ2)

Collecting 150 naga claws was annoying.
You my friend have patients by the truck load. If I have to collect more than 2 of anything I drop it. The naga claws have caused the demise of more than a few solo players let alone MB'ers
At least Naga Claws are (or nearly) a 100% drop rate.
Yeah, 100%. That's why it's "annoying" and not "making me rip off my own hands to turn in."

Just found an area of land that I could start at one spot and work in a circle and by the time I got back to where I started, they had started respawning. Repeat ad nauseum.

Now, the Gathering the Reagents quest was excruciating but I'm a glutton for punishment.

I'm taking a break from questing to get the 6 repeats of the Wintersaber meat quest out of the way now.

    I'm crazy.
The other benefit of this quest is Cenarion rep if you are not honored. I ground out the rep 1st before doing the other quests...

"1) Dual Boxing is tough enough, I couldn't imagine 5 boxing. So I want to stay with just two...maybe 3."

    Heh - and it begins....

I started off planning to two box, then set up a third account to transfer a 70 onto for boosting. Then I thought "Well HANG ON" I could boost up another team to give me 3 on each account and now I'm working out my new PC for 5 boxing.

    It'll get ya!

Well I was 4 and 5 boxing for some time, then I took a few months break to build my bankroll in Poker
A few days ago The Rupt Brothers came back but with a little change. I started to think why I was so burned out after a lot of the sessions of 5-boxing HC instances and after PvPing, then I thought I'd just try to chill with 3 of the Rupt Bro's (shamans).
After a few days I must say I really enjoy "only" 3-boxing, less lag for one (only playing now with 1 comp), a little less cost (good thing with the world economics ). I've started to grind for cash to get my epic mounts, only 8000g to go, and to get some money for WOTLK.
This is what I have been doing with my 3 shamans (S2, badge gear):

    - Plowing through instances like Mana-Tombs normal
    - Dailies (quick and good cash)
    - Grinding for shadow motes in Nagrand
    - Getting tradeskills up

Now this isn't much but I really like the speed of which I can clear the normal instances. I haven't died a single death yet (not even close) so might start with the "Push it to the limit" mentally soon regarding to instances.

Might get back to frapping a bit with the 3-box setup just to keep the interest up through boring times.
