Default Maximizer stopped working after Vista 64 install or something

    Hi everyone!
Some time ago I've been using Keyclone on my old PC and all the stuff seemed to work perfectly.
Recently I've upgraded video to 9800GX2, added some memory and switched to Core 2 Quad and installed Vista 64 SP1.
Yesterday I've bought a licence for new system and tried new setup.
The problem is that all WoW copies open in resolutions selected in Maximizer for them but nothing happen to windows then. Neither windows got resized, nor placed in right screen areas. Moreover, I got doubled entries both in Keyclone windows list and in taskbar. 5 named World of Warcraft and 5 named A, B, C, D and E according to maximazer region names.
Please help me as I got exited with new "Invite friend" feature and it's incredible XP amounts and can not wait anymore.
    :-)

Going to need more information to go on. are you saying 10 instances of WoW are starting? The instructions for setting up keyclone and maximizer are pretty straight forward if the windows are not moving where you want them to the most common problem I have seen is that the enabled Maximizer button is not checked in keyclone.

If you can take some screen shots of your keyclone setup that might help.

    Thanx for reply!
    Trying to be more exact:
    1. I start 5 instances of WoW. But list of instances in Keyclone looks like:
    World of Warcraft
    A
    World of Warcraft
    B
    World of Warcraft
    C
    World of Warcraft
    D
    World of Warcraft
    E
The same thing appears in Windows Taskbar, but instead of region names (A-E) something like DMULVID... or alike appears, but no windows open when I hit these buttons.
Excuse my lack of knowledge but it looks like I get two windows for each instance, one with unchanged WoW window with a title and another window, which should be a pattern or container for WoW window, but I can not open last one, only see preview on mouseovering the button in windows taskbar, preview is a gray rectangle.
    2. I do know how to configure maximizer and even did use it some time before system reinstall. I tried using Keyclone folder copied from previous system. It is and was installed in C:\Games\Keyclone.
    3. Maximize button is checked, autoadd window with WoW is checked too. If I disable autoadd, no keys passed and a list in Keyclone consists of A-E only, windows taskbar list remains unchanged.
    4. I'll try to take some screenshots tonight.

Wow you have me stumped I have no idea what those extra windows are in your screen shot. Not only that but the letters on the WoW welcome page are all garbled :P

I would double check your keyclone setup. under Command editor here I do.

    1. Enter a Command - Toon1
    2. CPU affinity - I have a dual core on my second PC so I leave this alone. If you have a quad be sure and set affinity.
    3. Program: c:\\World of Warcraft\WOW.exe
    4. keymap : I dont use a keymap I leave this blank
    5. region : depending on how I have Maximizer set up I will type the region in here.. region0 typically for the first client
    6. username : umm your username
    7. 15 maxfpsbk - 45 maxfps

    I leave everything else unchecked.

In the Maximizer tab I hit reset to ensure i have a blank slate. I hit the + button in the top left and drag a new region and than give it a name. The position of the first region if its in the top left area is x,y - 0,0 and in mycase the w,h is 1679,524. I have snap to grid selected and enable maximizer, and in the maximizer window I put the same resolution as in the top right 1679x524.

I hit apply and am done with the first region. Repeat rinse for each region you want to add.

I do not even touch the general tab I leave it all default. the auto add world of warcraft is checked and of course i use the default port but otherwise I dont touch it.

first, if you are going to use maximizer... UNCHECK the auto-add-windows-titled option. if your wows don't show up in your list, then you know something is wrong.

next, make sure you selected wow.exe in your command. you know you have selected wow.exe if the wow:username and wow:maxfpsbk fields have become enabled.

if you have chosen wow.exe... and launching your command leaves your wow window unmaximized.. and something else named 'A' in the keyclone list... then you have a shell program getting launched when wow.exe is being launched.

i have heard of this happening in a couple of instances:
    1. some non-english keyboard helpers put a shell around all apps to enable non-english typing.
    2. a virus/trojan

find wow.exe and right-click/properties/compatibility (i think). see if you see xp compatibility or something else.

good luck and let us know when you find out.
