I really think it'd work. Exceptions made for AoE effects on members of your raid / party would probably be acceptable

I posted it as a suggestion on the EU Suggestions forum months ago, and it was met with a resounding silence.

Truth be known, there are far more members of my own faction that I'd like to zap into oblivion than of the opposite faction 8|

I am totally not a guy for PVP, but damn if i could just blast ANYONE around me it sure would be fun.

Guildmates you dont like : smack his ass before a raid.
People ninja'ing mobs - kick their ass
etc etc etc.
