Default Elem Shaman - Priorise PvP Rewards ?

Played WoW since launch, but only just started PvP'ing yesterday ! Just levelled a 5 x Elem Shaman on a new server team and am doing BGs and will try arenas soon.

Are there any of the PvP rewards which are a priority to get ? Thinking maybe the hands for the extra range on shocks and the fear trinket ? If you were starting from scratch which items would you get and in which order.

Any and all advice is appreciated.

  2. #2

    Default

    1. Rep blue set
    2. main hand
    3. off hand
    4. boots, belt, wrists (wrists first)
    5. jewelry
    6. s2 set (largest upgrade first, most likely shoulders.

If you don't have the rating for the piece you need, just skip it until later.

  3. #3

    Default

    1)Medallion of the horde (Non-epic)
    2)Merciless Gladiator's Mail Leggins + Runic Spellthread
    3)Merciless Gladiator's Mail Armor + 15 Resiliance + Socket for meta gem
    4)Merciless Gladiator's Mail Spaulders + Scryr/Aldor enchant + Socket for meta gem
5)Merciless Gladiator's Mail Helm + meta gem + other socket
    6)Merciless Gladiator's Mail Gauntlets +20 spell damage

Do those 5 in that order. socket with rare/uncommon quality gems, dont use epic gems until you get season 4.
Meta Gem: +12 Spell Crit, & +3% increated crit damage, requires at least 2 blue gems.
Socket other gems priority: Spell Damage, Spell Crit, Resilience, Stamina.

    7)Merciless Gladiator's Spellblade? + 40 spell damage
    8)Merciless Gladiator's Barrier + 12 Resilience

9)Guardian's Mail Girdle (Season 4 belt but doesn't require arena rating)
10)Guardian's Mail Bracers (Season 4, 1575 rating requirement)
11)2 choices here, Guardian's Mail Sabatons (Season 4 feet, 1700 rating requirement, and if you dont have 1700 rating...)
11.5)Vindicator's Band of Dominance (Season 3 ring)
12)Guardian's Band of Dominance (Season 4 ring, 1650 rating)
13)Guardian's Pendant of Dominance (Season 4 neck)
14)Medallion of the Horde (Epic 40k honor trinket)

By now you should have some arena points and should be able to get Season 4 gear, just upgrade your season 2 to season 4 as you get points.

    15)Sergeant's Heavy Cape
    16)Battlemasters Audacity (trinket)
    17)Totem of your choice

EDIT: Whoops, I clearly forgot to read the part about you doing 5x shaman >.<

but yes, weapon as 7th, the weapon you get from leveling to 70 is close to what S2 weapon is, so getting 5/5 S2 armor is better to get before weapon.

The very first thing you should do when you hit 70 is go to Mechanaar and get the Totem of the Void on your shamans. After that, run whatever instances you need to get the rep to get your blue sets. Doing Mechanaar for Totem of the void gave me enough shatar rep that I could buy the rep piece when I was done. For CoT rep, I ran Durnhold. Very easy, Very short. Lower city was a little bit tricky, I ran Sethek Halls for my rep, and I wiped a few times on Talon King Ikiss, but once you get the hang of it, its fairly simple.
If you quested your way up, you should have enough rep with all the other factions.

Personally, I dont believe in PVP Trinket is very important on shamans. The order of items I went with are as follows

    1. Totem of the Void
    2. Merciless Gavel
    3. s4 belt
    4. s3 ring
    5. s2 helm
    6. s2 pants
    7. s2 shoulders
    8. s2 shield
    9. s4 wrist
    10.. s4 boots
    11. s4 ring
    12. s2 gloves
    13. s4 chest.

The reason for the odd order on the s4 off set pieces is because of the rating req. It required me to have the arena rating and i needed a few pieces of s2 for survivability to get the rating. Also, I think the gavel is the most important and the very first piece of honor gear you should buy. It literally DOUBLES your spell damage at your gear level when you just hit 70. No other piece will do that for you,.

At this point your now ready to attempt 1500-1600 bracket arena, just to start getting the points going. While you'll have the most terrible time as a elemental shaman in 2's, or even 3's. Warlock is probably your safest partner to get to 1600, and just play 10 games a week to get points while you battlegrounds for the rest of your armor.

9)Guardian's Mail Girdle (Season 4 belt but doesn't require arena rating)
10)Guardian's Mail Bracers (Season 4, 1575 rating requirement)

Now your just about geared, try to get into a good 5's arena team, and get as high rating as possible and get all Season 4.
And any peices you couldn't get before because of arena rating, get them now too.

Fixed, forgot about the 5x shaman part while I was writing >.<

and yes mainhand 7th, S2 weapon isn't that much of an upgrade as 5/5 S2 armor is. That level 70 dagger from the quest from leveling up is almost the same as the S1 weapon was. But getting armor leveling to 70 was the hard part, that stuff was weak.

Also, start doing 5's arena right away before you even hop in battlegrounds just to get the 10 games for points, theres a video of 5x shaman multiboxer naked that got 1850. Shouldn't be hard to climb with 70 quest armor, and each week you play you'll also be adding the battleground armor to your setup so you'll keep climbing.

#1 S2 MH ( I had one waiting for me before I hit 70 from grinding my marks at 59 and 69. The amount of + damage from all your toons having this is huge. Your talking +675 damage in total for all your toons)
#2 All blue honor gear ( get totem of the void while you grind rep for the last blue honor part)
#3 S2 Shield ( Major upgrade to armor, spell damage, and health)
#4 Brutal Belt (huge upgrade vs the greens and blues available)
#5 S2 Helm. (again major upgrade with sockets)
#6 Vindicator Boots ( I picked this just so I can put boars speed. My others have it and they pull away from my guys when on follow)
#7 S2 Chest ( The upgrade from the Blue Chest to S2 is more than the pants or shoulders)
#8 S2 Pants ( You can put a +stam +damage on these for a nice upgrad over the blues )
    #9 S2 Shoulders
    #10 Brutal Neck
    #11 Vindicator Ring

You should have enough arena to get S4 gloves after 3 weeks or 4.
