Hello Everyone
Just wanted to stop in and say hello. I have been a member here for awhile but have never posted... I have been multiboxing for a couple of years now, running various teams. I have just switched to a new server "Antondias" or something like that. My old server was had been giving me 200+ pings for the past couple of months and I cannot play that way any longer, especially when my focus is battlegrounds and arena. So my new team is 5x elemental shaman going 40/0/21 for pvp and 41/0/20 for pve.
For others wanting to mix things up a bit, I found the following combinations worked very well for pvp.
Lead - Paladin/Warrior
Slaves - Shaman
Lead - Priest
Slaves - Mages/Warlocks
Lead - Priest
Slaves - Hunters
* Very nice combination here with traps, pets, utitlity etc...
I have never attempted to try more than 2 different classes, although I'm sure it would be really fun, I think after awhile it would just be too much to manage. I would post a picture of my setup but that would mean I have to organize and transfer the 500 pictures of my family on our digital camera.
Basically I'm running 3 24" widescreen monitors
2 accounts on the left and right monitor with the main in the middle
Synergy
Keyclone
Autohotkey - This is only used for making clients the topmost window. I can't deal with using maximizer and having my slaves run "both visible" but only have half the screen height. So I run windowed mode and maximized and with a click of a button on my mouse it brings the backmost wow window to the front.
1 Server
2 Desktops
1 Laptop using the external display
1 keyboard
3 dedicated mice (synergy problem) Some time i'll spend a day and create an application that can be used instead of synergy... where the mouse will work without spinning out of control on client machines.
Xkeys pro using the cut out icons (Xzin, that was such a good idea)
When I multiboxed a long time ago in everquest and later in wow I had just created my own software to handle everything keyclone does (keyclone does more), and as a software developer with way too much to do at work, if someone has already built something there is no reason to do it yourself if that product works.
I told someone in game that I would post on here with some macros that I use as they had some questions.
So basically for all of my characters the macros are essentially the same.
On all characters:
Attack macro - /startattack [target=focustarget, exists, nodead]; startattack [target=target, exists, nodead]
Follow Macro - Suppose we have character X, A, B, C, D. We would than have macros FX (Follow X), FA, FB, FC, FD. On FX for example he cannot follow himself so his macro for FX would just be /clearfocus. FA, FB, FC, FD would all be
/clearfocus
/focus A
/follow A
Spell Macros
Lightning Bolt -
#showtooltip
#show Lightning Bolt
/cast [target=focustarget, exists, nodead] Lightning Bolt; cast [target=target, exists, nodead] Lightning Bolt
For totems I use /castsequence macros except for totems like tremor, wrath, grounding totem etc...
So I'll keep everyone posted on my progress. If anyone else is on the same server as me lets get in touch. I'm Horde, playing 5 orc shaman with the names
Èlementxlist is my main with the slaves spelled the same way just with a "a", "b", "c", "d" before the "list" part of the name.
