Default One computer - 3 Monitors

Currently I have a computer with one video card (Nvidia 8800) running with 2 monitors. I want to add a 3rd monitor that will run an additional WoW instance (or other 3d applications). I have another video card (Nvidia 7800) and a motherboard with a 2nd PCIexpress slot (I believe the 2nd is limited to 8x). Both cards are using the same driver running on Vista 32bit.

I ran a test by putting in the 2nd card (Nvidia 7800), and hooking up my 2nd monitor to it. Attempted to run just two WoW windows (one in each window) and the frame rates dropped significantly (normally I run 4 windows no problem on the one card). Now I did some searches on this forum and saw others had the same issue AND I also saw some people who sounded like it should be dooable (The hello kitty thread? heh). However, I wasn't unable to find a straight answer as to what caused the drop in framerates or if it's even fixable just that others had the same problem.

Is it possible it's the 2nd PCIxp slot being 8x (im thinking this one)? Is it possible im not running the same 2 cards thats causing it (both Nvidia using same driver)? Is there someone running 3 monitors on one computer that can give me there layout? Any help is appreciated to help me avoid throwing money at a problem im not sure the answer to. Thanks!

p.s. Premptive answer to use another computer: I have other computers I can always just set it up with that, but I prefer to have my other computers free to run other applications that are CPU intensive over a long period of time if i can manage this on one.

If you have a std pci card you might try it instead of the 2nd pci-e card to eliminate if that is indeed causing a conflict.
