Default New to Quadcore . Please help

    Hi ,

i had a Dual core and was 5 boxing with 1 computer with keyclone . I have a 8800 GTS and 4 gig of ram using Windows XP. I was getting around 20-30 frames per second on main and was setting my clone to 15 Maxfps on the background . ( 2nd screen ) . I have the main on a Samsung Widescreen 22'' and i have my 4 clones split up on a 19'' samsung regular monitor.

I figured that buying a Quadcore was a good idea since i would have practically 1 core for each Wow Instance .

I went in the Condig.wtf files and changed the assigned core to 1,2,4,8,14 respectively. Means 1 core for each and the last instance is using core 2,3,4

Now that i have my new Quadcore 9450 2.66 MHZ with 12 mg cache , im not seeing a lot of improvements. I tought i could put max settings on my main and get 60 fps with it . Is there anything im doing wrong ?

Thanks a lot for the help.

Correct me if I'm wrong, I am not much of a computer expert, but I think it's based on how powerful is your graphic card, WoW doesn't use much CPU power, so having a quad core will sure improve the loading/reponse time, but graphic will not improve much.

my graphic card is a 8800 GTS overcloaked to 640 mg and is quite good .

One of the best on the market.

I doubt this is my problem.

It aint the graphics card, its overkill for wow.

I assume yeh got yeh got one copy for each game? or yer symlinking it therefore have one config file for each game?

    Whats the res set at?

    got anything else running?

are the graphics card set to spanned mode?

try setting up 2 copies on one core 2 on another then yer main on a separate core.
that way XP and yer main gets its own core.

I got one directory on my harddrive for all games : World of warcraft1 , World of warcraft2 , ...

    1. Rez is set at 800x600 in Maximiser

    2. Got nothing else running except Keyclone

    3. What do you mean by spanned mode ? I got 2 screens plugged to my graphic card and its considered as 2 screen in windows.

    4. I tried changing the cores but it doesnt seems to change a lot of stuff.

The problem is that you are using two monitors of diffrent size in Windows XP. This kills framerates and has been very well documented on this site.

    Try searching.
