    Default Arena, positioning!

I've been having this thought. For a while, I've yet to give it a proper go but, I think it has potential.

When you do arena and you go defensive, wait the other team out. Your main, or the one you control with your mouse, is usually in front. This ain't bad, since if they go on your main, your alts will always be in the position to dps. So it has advantages. But against melee teams, or characters running around, it will hamper your alt movement.

Now, I'm 50/50 chance to success with turning my alts, but it simply doesn't always work for me. Often, turning with keys is too slow and the enemy still eats your cast time freely. It might be me doing soemthing wrong, I don't know. :P

Anyhow, what if you position yourself, move forward with your alt toons so they are just in fron of your main, the one your have mouse control over.

If they're a melee team and start prancing and go behind you, you'll have a way to instantly turn around, using your follow key, once. And it's also unlikely your main will get cc'd, so stepping forward would turn instantly again.

Has any of you boxers played around with such a tactic? Or should I stick to allowing them to focus my main, to give my alts free play to most teams and just take the occasional lost cast time. *shrug*

I believe someone posted some form of anti-meelee spread out formation a while ago, that guaranteed that 3 of 4 of your characters would always be in a position to do damage to the meelee.

I have a button that will only my my alts forwards.. So when i run out the gates i will end by pressing that button for a few secs just so they are all standing inside eachother. But normaly with my main kinda far back since they are hardly on exactly the same spot.. this gives them a "new main" to focuse fire on, and yeah you can easily turn you alts if a rogue pop up behind... But, the best way to deal with it as i see it is to drop your fire nova totems (spam the button for like 2-3 secs depends if you are specced in it or not, so that you are sure that they are all droped even if one is stuned for a short time, at the time when you see your totems are going off then do a 4x shock, this will kill or drop the rogue to 10% and have him run off... ignor him. and then start you wally on your primal targets. He will be healing him so its a good time to kill another.

ABout the turning keys.. i use separat keys to turn and not the normal ones. I like that better as can move my alt better with follow on.
