Hero class, how?

There's some additional info in the link that I provided:

Forking classes from current classes or additional talent trees. But no, because the character classes wouldn't feel distinct. Would all be watered down.
Multi-classing -- a secondary class or a hero profession. For example, a warrior would become a deathknight. Would water down the different character classes. How is a warrior death knight different from a warrior death knight, etc.
What is a mage deathknight or druid deathknight -- wouldn't feel right.
Class morphing -- the character class would stop being the old class and then do the quest and become a deathknight.
Players would feel they were losing existing characters. What if you don't like the new one. So they decided to unlock instead of create new.

Looks like they tried to create a subclassing/multiclassing system similar to the noblesse classes of lineage 2, but weren't able to get the design right.

Ya, And I'm glad they didn't because the subclass system in Lineage2 just made me confused. Unlike Lineage2 you create your class in Wow at first, and then keeps it that way, i think you change or "upgrade" your class 2 or 3 times in Lineage2, making it really hard to decide what to choose and pick.

Subclasses in FFXI worked out well. Added some variety to the classes.

I think that they made them lvl 55 cause people probably not roll them cause the 1-80 grind would be a pain in the ass. If they did roll DK what people would probably do is power lvl them to about lvl 60 and have no clue on how to play the class.

I would love to have 3 hunters and 3 mages to add to my team, but i did 2 teams (1 to 70, and the other to 60) and that wasn't fun. I'll probably get the 60 team to 70 and then call it quits on alts.

eh, not true. months after the xpac we had Draenei and Belf 70's, this was before leveling speed changes and RAF. With just speed changes, I'd imagine 1-80 will take about as long as 1-70 did at the start of BC. If they wanted to, DK's starting at 1 isn't that much of a haul for some, they just wanted DK's to be playable endgame faster, and not have to experience as much of a grind. I can do the 1-58 grind in my sleep now. it's old, tired, and thank god, because of RAF and I've gotten most classes to 60, I don't have to do very much of it anymore. 1-58 is autopilot mode.

I'll tell you this much now.... the Death Knights are VERY OP in beta atm. There will definitely be some nerfing and changes. It may be intended to allow for faster leveling, not sure. But no way at level 58 should I have been able to take on 6 level 59's and 60's and survive lol.

A prot Pally can start taking taking on multiple enemies before they get plate armour, I fail to see why a DK shouldn't be able to do similar. They are tanks after all.
