Oh the days of cassette tapes and vhs videos. Ataris and Nintendos. Gameboys and Gamegears. and my super duper awesome 99mhz processor with a turbo button. my 6 mbs of ram and a 99mb harddrive.
OMG i still have the original original gameboy. Yes the one that takes 4 AA batteries that weights like 5 pounds and is Black and, wait for it, wait for it, yellow. Yes that is correct kids yellow not white.

Nintendo was awesome then. The thing that all Nintendo had back then after about 1 year is it was hard to play games, meaning that you had to play with the game cartage for about 2 minutes before it worked and it anything hit it you have to start again. I remember me and my friend played a game for about 2 hours and we where almost about to beat it, when a book drops on it and we lose everything.

I also remember my first computer. I think it had 4mb of memory in it, you want to know the funny thing, we upgraded it to 8mb, yes 4mb cost about $50 then (maybe more, i don't remember cause my parents paid for it not me). It also came with windows 3.5, yes there was windows before 95 lol.

You know when you are getting old when you remember that stuff. The only thing that i hope that they will always make (well until i die) are dvd players, don't care about dvds, just the players. I have about 3 thousand (maybe more) dvds, so it would really suck if i couldn't watch them anymore.
I had to leave mine on for 3 days to be able to finish Rygar. No save on some games was brutal. Then other games would bug out deep into the game. I think we were playing Ikari Warriors, about 4 hours into a 2p game session and one of our dudes got stuck and couldn't do anything. Ahhh the Old School days.

    C:/run win.exe

dos. the way to go. Some people dont even know what dos is. even though they are using it all the time via windows :*(

Those 5 lb brick nintendos. /sigh always blowing into those nintendo cartridges to get the dust out, and if you were fancy, you would use rubbing alcohol and a q tip.

i also paid about 300 to upgrade my computer from 66mhz to 99 and 4mb of memory to 8 and the harddrive from a 40mb~ to a 99mb hd~

i was writing code for windows 2.10 ... prior to that was unix and dos (ok ok... yes, it's true. i'm so old i fart dust... but i was 11 when i started coding)

people can laugh about dos.. but put a multi-thread capability and a networking layer... and you'd have a really light weight OS (like most embedded platforms these days)
