    Default My New Computer Build

Well I finally broke down and took the stuff out of my Newegg wish list and put it in the cart on Friday. It's a little overkill but the last time I did a major system build was late 2004. Thanks to everyone who has posted advice and current system builds for helping me finalize this computer.

Actually it's probably so he can use all 4gb... and have the possibility of upgrading.

Since I only have 3.2 available in my Vista32 environment and never cap that playing 5 boxes I'd say busting out another 4GB would be a waste especially when the price of ram will fall before he actually needs it.

I actually ended up buying 8gigs of ram but I'll use this machine to do some video editing as well. I also like to have several programs running in the background so I don't think it'll go to waste.

Just an update. I got everything put together on Friday and this thing screams. My main is on the highest settings and the alts are all on 15/45 FPS and there is absolutely no lag in Shatt. If I had to do it over I'd get a bigger case than the nine hundred but everything else is great.

About $1,800 using nothing from the old computer except monitors, G11 keyboard, MX518 mouse and a pair of Bose Video Roommate speakers I've had since my first PC back in the early 90s.
