Just started yesterday, questions/thoughts

I currently have 3, 70s. NE Druid, Human Lock, and troll hunter. I recently decided with a few friends to play horde again. So we just started 2 days ago on Firetree(US). I started as a Tauren Shaman. Got to level 12. Then I found this site and started reading about dual boxing...

Dual boxing:
So I just started the research yesterday. I went home last night, made a second copy of wow, got Octopus running and leveled a Tauren Shaman and Tauren Druid to level 10 at the same time.

Now I'm wondering if this is a bad combination. I thought the cast times of wrath and lightilning bolt were close and they both have nice instants (earth shock and moonfire). I'm starting to think maybe I want to try to melée with them since I'll be getting bear form tonight. Melée seems to be more difficult. What's your take on that?

Looting:
So there isn't any macros for this? This has to easily be the one thing slowing me down. I'm only using a referred trial account right now but if I get this dual boxing working smooth I'll pay for a second account.

Trial account:
Also this tripple xp with a refferal is devided in half because of the party right? So I'm actually levelling two characters at 1.5x xp right?

Druid/Shaman is a decent combo as casters. Not too sure about melee, but I would say it's bad just from my theorycrafting.

Looting sucks. You pretty much have to switch screens to loot on every character. We deal with it.

Refer a friend is 3 times the exp for each character linked. It's not split. Look at your combat log to verify.

Rergarding the XP Bonus in a party: Yep, you're kinda right. The kill XP will be lower but you'll get full XP for the quests.
I am not sure if this happens only in the lower levels or if this is always the case...

Wow thanks for the quick response. The looting thing sucks, couldn't image that on a 5 box. Since it's like that I might have to hook up my other 22" monitor or just use the second pc all together. Any recommendations there?

Good to hear shaman Druid are decent. I'll stick with them. I want to try shaman but I love my NE Druid so much I want a horde

For looting, I put it on FFA and only have the other guys loot something when it's necessary for a quest or something. Otherwise I just trade them stuff and have an auto-accept macro. It's actually not that bad, especially with the kill speed of a 5 box team.

Shaman and druid are a great team as casters, epecially into the future when a druid will grant a nature dmg buff and has spell hit and spell crit abilities that help both. Stick with them as pure casters. I wouldn't bother with a melee team of shaman/druid, it would get so confusing.

well that solves it. I'll stick with Druid/shammy. Need to buy the other account so I can trade.

I read this on this board somewhere, but I figured I would pass it along since it sped up my looting a ton. Put the group on master looter, rare(blue) or higher. Put all of your characters on "pass on loot" except for the one you want to do all the looting.

Then you have one character who loots everything except blues, which you can master loot to the one you want. I don't do collection quests, this may affect those.
