Default Macros and Talking while multiboxing

I am new to multiboxing.. and I am currently leveling 2 mages.. I just started today. 8o

My question is what are some useful macros for dualboxing 2 mages, and my question question is how do I talk on one without the others saying the same thing(in /say) or doing random things (like hotkeys and things) when I type...? If that makes any sense. lol

    Thanks...!

Edit: one more question.. Are there any useful addon packages for dual mages? I downloaded 1 pack but it didnt install correctly, and I don't even know what I downloaded. lol. Names of addons would be fine, I can download them seperately. ^^

I'm still working on macros myself, so I can't answer the first question yet. As far as multi-talking, it depends on if you using hardware or software to multibox. Software usually provides a hotkey to turn off key echoing or provides a way to filter keys from being sent. Hardware can be a bit more tricky since you have to remap the keyboard in the client so none of the normal typing keys do anything.

I am running both clients off 1 laptop, and on one screen (but plan on getting a 2nd monitor sometime).
    I am running KeyClone.

If you are using KeyClone you can use the "Do-Not-Pass" section to filter out keys you don't want.
I'm running 5 Shamans at the moment, the only key presses that go through from the main window to the other 4 are 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,0, numpad 7, numpad 9, alt, shift and Ctrl.
Then you can bind a key to bypass the do-not-pass filter, so all key presses go between windows. Personally I use F12, because it's hard to accidentally hit and wasn't bound to anything.

As for macros, I found these few useful. Just change the spells to mage equivalent.
(Note - I'm using an MX518 mouse, as such have a button above and below the scroll wheel which I have mapped to keys. My chars are called Zapcow, from one to five, and they are only 21 at the moment, hence the lack of many spells)

    --Follow Macro
    /target Zapcowone
    /follow

    --Main attack
    #showtooltip Lightning Bolt
    /cast [target=targettarget] Lightning bolt

    --Main Heal
    #showtooltip Lesser Healing Wave
/cast [nomodifier, target=targettarget] Lesser Healing Wave
    /cast [modifier:alt, target=player] Lesser Healing Wave

    I wish I could remember my giant quest/res/accept macro, but I can't.
It's a combination of script commands that accepts quests, completes quests, skips gossip, releases when dead, accepts party, etc.
There are a fair few out there, google "multibox warcraft macro"

Thanks I think I saw a macro for accepting earlier... I will have to backtrack for it.

I would imagine you'll want two separate focus keys and a uniform polymorph key so you can poly two targets at once. Other than that this should be pretty necessary (stolen from the Wiki):

    Mage1:
    /castsequence reset=24 Frost Nova,

    Mage2:
    /castsequence reset=24 ,Frost Nova

That way you can hit the same key and only cast one Frost Nova, then hit it again and the other mage will cast Frost Nova. Repeat when cooldown is up.

http://www.wowwiki.com/Multiboxing_macros has tons of good macros =D

Thanks everyone for all of your advice! ^^

Now I just need to find some addons (and a 2nd normal WoW key.. I have a 2nd BC already.. >_<)

Rudi - Keyclone has a round-robin option, which you can set just like do-not-pass. I use it on my shaman for war stomp, key is 7. So I press 7 once and One stomps, press it again and Two stomps, etc etc.

    For addons I'd recommend..

    Fubar
    Fubar Durability Fu (automatic repairing)
    GetVendored (vendors greys automatically)
nQuest log (and various libraries associated with it)
    Bartender 3
and there was one linked on this forum in a sticky above which was to do with quest accepting/handing in/etc.

You don't need much, and that's pretty much all I use on my 4 slaves.

Relatively simple to set up, that said it's easy for me to go into the code and change some things >_> so yeh.
I just love its ability to bind, its display, etc etc. So well designed.
