In WSG, if the other team is pisisng me off bad enough and the rest of my team is hopeless, i'll go over toward the tunnel entrance on the Ally side (i'm horde) and just start going all out on their Res'ers coming down while watching for the flag running to make their way back. I'll be able to tie up a ton of their team, in something that ends up being a protracted loss, but it makes me feel better inside to exert my dominance over the opposing team. I'll usually end the match with some ridiculous Killing Blow/Death ratio, and of course, still lose.
If my team isn't completley hopeless, the most effective strategy I've found to use in WSG is a 10 man rush and just gib the enemy flag carrier on the way back home. Anytime the opposing team has smart rogues, or an abundance of mages it's usually bad news for me, and that aggressive strategy won't work. (saps, blinds, frost nova, rogues jumping my followers, etc) and I'll have to just set up shop in the middle somewhere trying to tie up as many of their guys as possible instead of going for the their flag. I'll only GY camp if they are REALLY pissing me off.
I think just like one time I got 2 awesome hunters on my team that watched our base. They didn't let the allies go very far when they captured our flag and we did an 8 man rush. It was a memorable match because we weren't up against scrubs, and those 2 hunters were just amazing.
