Thread: WSG Strategy

  1. #1

    Default WSG Strategy

I have finally reached a maturity with my main group (Pal, Priest, 3x Mages) that I can actually contribute to winning a BG. I don't top the DPS meter, but my priest usually leads healing, and my mages are 3,4 & 5 on dps or so. I've had some moderate luck in WSG lately, but the strategy I've been using is different than the defensive strats I've seen posted.

Basically, I have found it very helpful to play offensive, but not front line. I will usually follow a warrior or feral druid into the enemy flagroom and help keep that player up and secure the room while they capture. I will then escort as best as I can, while burning down chasers and interceptors. Once the flag runner is back on our side, I go back on the offense to get back our flag, usually with the help of a rogue or hunter. Using this strategy, I find myself in the enemy flagroom more than anywhere else, and I've had a number of wins with this strat. Playing defensively, it always seems like I deter them from attacking until they have the numbers to take me out. By assisting the offense, they can't focus on me, or they will let our flag runner through.

the problem with defending as a boxer is that it takes a druid and a clever cc'er.

If the druid caps the flag from stealth and does a feral charge on your team mate you cant catch up with him.

The problem is they don't have to beat you, they just have to get past you, which means they really only have to disorient your main long enough to get out of the room.

I say, best defense in WSG is a good offense... for boxers, that is. Bonus: the losses are quick....

I discovered that corpsing the enemy flag room was a good way to do WSG, with 4 shammys i basicly take their flag room, totem it up completly and making it imposibol for them to return any flags without geting one shoted, which normaly happens a few times before they figure out whats going on in there. Its a good strategy, try it

    hahaha

    This post was great.
I pay $70 a month for my cell phone.
Which sits there on my hip all day every day.
And occasionally I use it to check the time, or play a game of solitaire.
Maybe I'll get a text message from someone sometimes, or someone will try to call me.
95% of the time it sits there doing nothing.
But I pay it, because I feel the price is worth the service.

How much do you dump into insurance? For what? Insurance? That something may, at one time or another, happen to you? Is the service worth the price? Obviously it is if you are continuing to pay it.
I pay insurance because I feel the price is worth the service.

    Just like WoW.
I pay the monthly fee because I think the price is worth the service.
    Whether it's $15 a month, $30 a month, $45 a month, $105 a month...whatever.

You know, GY camping has been around since the first day WSG opened its gates. It has nothing to do with 5-boxers. XD

In the 50-59 bracket, I would solo camp the H GY on my then 500 spell dmg 59 demo lock... I could keep them camped a good 10 minutes before 4-5 would team up versus me, solo. (1v3, I won the majority of the time, 1v4, not so much.)
