WTF is up with arena

I went into a low, low 5v5 rated team with a friend to see what we would do in terms of raising it.

Our rating at the time was 1411 and the 2 first games we played was against people in 4/5 s4 gear with s3 everything else.

WTF

I thought they fixed arena.

How can such a low rated team have such good gear and still be so low?

Arena is just Lol. I 2v2 with my daughter. Rogue + feral druid. We suck and are a crappy comp. We hang out between 1400-1450 most of the time. It is where we belong. Every time we get close to 1500 we run into teams that WAY WAY WAY out gear us, crush us and we loose 16-17 points. I honestly do not understand it. If I thought we should be rated higher I would make a QQ thread. But meh, we get our gear slowly. I will live.

That happened to me last night. Made my 5v5 arena team with a blues/greens mix of early lvl 70 gear. Started at 1500 rating, and ended the night 0-10 at around 1400 rating. All fights were against 1500+ teams, and 5 of the last 6 was against the same 1800-1850 team in full S3/S4 gear. Oh well, not like I really care about PvP anyway. I'm just in it for the freebies, even if it takes me an extra week or two per item with a lower rating.

They didn't fix it. They adjusted it so that exploitive behavior was more difficult. Big difference.

Also, the reason it's like this is because it isn't really a competition. It's a grinding wheel that is there to give the largest number of people the most attractive set of options for PVP gear and keep them all paying each month while simultaneously giving the appearance of competition to cut down on whines from the "pro" folks. It's the Wal-Mart of PVP, but with the added option of not having to do anything but walk around the store 10 times a week to get free stuff.

well then how do you get the dope rating with crap gear? Grind till you have great gear and go from there?

Why are they throwing seasoned veterans at us noobs?

Isn't telling the public that they fixed it and it not working kinda like illegal in some odd way.

Those with S4 pieces and maxed on 5k arena points are starting to whore their "skillz" to carry those who can't get the PR. And it's totally legit as far as Blizzard is concerned.

I did 21 games on monday night. 1500s bracket was all S2/S3, some S4. Dropped into the 1400s and started running into Tier 6 or Season 4 2 man teams trying to do 2v3. Wasn't until low 1400s and 1300s that people were as poorly geared as me, or worse. By then I actually started winning with priest/warlock/warlock.

How anyone with any gear at all drops below 1450 though is beyond me. Even 1500...

I bounce around between 1600-1700 brackets in 5v5, and everyone from 1500-1700 so far is full season 4 usually lol.

People bring in new players
People help new people l2play.

If anything the new changes ensured that high level teams are seen MORE often at 1500 (everytime they switch a player).
