If it does work, there is an added problem tho..

if you spamm this chances are you will not get Hammer of Wrath to go off, seeing as you will be constantly interrupting urself :S

Make sure the option is enabled to auto cast on self and you can put the cleanse spell right in the spam macro. This will take care of all magic debuffs that your paladin gets (except for silence). I know you want to just use it to debuff other members, and I haven't tried some of the macros posted yet, but I think that they have potential.

However, in the vast majority of PVE encounters as long as your paladin is cleansing himself you can pretty much ignore the other toons. Many mobs will just try to recast the same debuff on your paladin after you cleanse it. I have a seperate cleanse button for when i absolutely need to cleanse my other characters, but it hardly gets used on my paladin. (fortunately i have a priest healer that does most of my dispelling while raiding. In 5 mans I just use this all in one macro with the paladin self cleansing)

To this point I've been using this:

But I'm wondering, would this work?

I'd like to guarantee that Consecration or Holy Shield are going off every time they can, but in my existing one I'm wondering if I'm missing some of the Judgements and Seal of Righteousness at times.

Also - someone above mentions just using Judgement and Seal of Righteousness in their spam macro (guessing they kick off Consecration and Holy Shield beforehand - but how do you ensure you are using Holy Shield every time you can? Also, is that enough aggro to ensure the healer isn't getting aggro, or shamans/hunters using chain lighting/multishot?

The reason I'm asking is that I notice my paladin burns through mana FAST. At MOST I make it two fights in an instance before having to drink to regain mana. Even bumping that up to three fights would speed up instance runs a lot. (Heck, I guess possibly not using chain lighting/multishot to allow the pally 3+ fights would speed things up alone.)

My paladin burns through mana way faster than my DPS. It has been getting worse as his gear improves. He takes less dmg, needs less heals, and less mana is restored during combat. I compensated for that by putting lower rank tanking spells in. You'll have to fine tune your spell ranks so that your dps isn't pulling agro, and mana is getting conserved, just try:

/castrandom Holy Shield(Rank1),Consencration(Rank1),Cleanse,Exorcis m(Rank1),Hammer of Wrath(Rank1),etc

to start, and then adjust ranks if you're pulling agro.


Don't forget to make another button (or adjust this one) with full ranks for when you're raid tanking or actually going up against something that will smack you around and you get plenty of mana from heals.

In addition, if threat is still not an issue, use Seal of Wisdom.

Anymore I start the battle with seal of wisdom, full rank avengers shield, then drop a full rank consecration. From there i just mash my down-ranked castrandom tanking macro. My paladin has 450 spell dmg though.

Ok, why use /castrandom rather than /castsequence? That doesn't seem efficient to me...?

The Seal of Wisdom idea is a good one - I'll have to give that a try. The idea of downranking spells won't last long, Blizzard will have that removed by the time Wrath comes out, so I won't bother doing it down only to undo it later on (and get grumpy about it).

Why even bother casting this stuff? Paladin tank in 5 mans is OP, get some spell damage and frisbee/JoR the 1st target and Consecrate+SoR will hold the rest. Don't waste mana generating extra threat that you don't need. It's easy to run the math based on TPS, DPS and mob HP... to find out exactly how much of a threat lead you need to hold aggro. Maybe if you get a string of crits + LO procs on the 1st or 2nd target you can lose aggro, but that's what taunt/stun/BoP is for!

I think this should work, As I think if there's nothing to dispel it will skip that line.
