Default How come my grant a level button is greyed out?

So I am 5 boxing shamans.

I have my first shaman set up on a veteran account that I've had for years - created the shaman after sending out 2 RaF invites. So then those 2 RaF invites went through, I linked those accounts, and used each of those 2 accounts (after upgrading from a trial) to invite 2 more accounts. So now I have 5 linked in sort of a pyramid fashion.

I seem to get the triple xp bonus ok (with some odd quirks - say I turn in a quest on all 5 accounts, it could give 1250xp on the first 4, and only 1200xp on the last one - very weird).

Anyway, one or two of the accounts have lagged slightly behind the rest leveling-wise - 3 accounts are level 15.25, the other 2 are 14.5 - probably from dying and the fact that I 3 boxed briefly before 5 boxing. Anyway, the "grant a level" buttons are greyed out - I'd like to grant the 2 lagging accounts a level just to catch them up but it wont let me. Any ideas why? Also, how far apart do accounts have to be before they stop getting the RaF bonus for kills and for quests? And does anyone have any idea why sometimes my lower level account(s) get slightly less XP for quest turnins?

    In your set up... Assuming your boxes are A B C D and E... In which A refered B and C and B refered D and C refered E

A can only gain levels from B and C... B can only gain from D and C can only gain from E.

Basically the grant a level only benefits the vet account and not the buddy account.

    clear? :P

If I'm reading your post correctly you have:
    - Account A
    - Account AB (referred by A)
    - Account AC (referred by A)
    - Account BD (referred by B)
    - Account CE (referred by C)

Now you say that accounts BD & CE are lagging behind the other 3 accounts and your grant level option is grayed out, thats because the linked account can give levels to the vetran account not vice versa:
    - AB & AC can give levels to A
    - BD can give levels to B
    - CE can give levels to C
    - A can't give levels to anyone, AB & AC can't give levels to BD & CE.

About the distance thing for characters getting xp, if you zoom out all the way on your minimap and then zoom in once, if they are out of your minimap they won't get the xp. I have no idea why your lower level is getting less xp from quest turnins, if he was higher level than the rest that might explain it (assuming the quest is green for him and yellow for the rest for example).

That does clear up things a bit - that actually makes me a bit happier, because now when accounts B and C hit 59 I can promote 3 of my veteran account characters all the way up to 59 that have been in the 30-50 range for a long time now Or promote my paladin from 24-59 and swap him out for 1 of my shamans for tanking instances. Not sure what I'll use the levels on accounts D and E for as far as promoting accounts B and C - guess I'll just create new characters, level them to 25-30 and then promote them to 59.

    Thanks for the help everyone!
