Heroic Hungarfen - Too many mushrooms

Everyone seems to think this is an easy fight but I keep getting overwhelmed by mushrooms before I get him down. I think my best try I got him down to 18%. I start my team way to the right with my tank out in front and pull him over, strafing across the platform as the mushrooms spawn. The mushrooms spawn so fast on heroic that I spend the vast majority of my time moving and not much time dpsing. By the time I get to the left edge of the platform he is nowhere near dead. At that point I try to move my group forward a bit and head back the other way. The problem is that by this point my group has spread out a bit from all the strafing and I start running into mushrooms and get owned real fast.

I think the problem might be that my dps is just undergeared with each holding around 650dps. However, that plummets due to all the movement. Perhaps there is some trick I'm missing or maybe all you guys that say this is easy run shammys and just blow him up.

But how does that work with 5x shamans?

stack all alts

bind keys to forward, back, strafe left/right

first mushroom strafe right
then forward
then left
then forward
then right
then forward
etc

CTRL-V so you can see the shrooms growing early. I watch my healer screen throughout the first for movement queues.

So I assume my tank should be doing the same thing but pulling him backwards?

Get to the max range of him. Drop your totems. bloodlust drop earth ele's pop trinket. Dead in ~20 seconds. Run back toward ramp. Really easy fight. usually the mushrooms aren't even ticking on by the time he is dead.

I'll try that today. Haven't done him on heroic, but I just remember he was a pain on normal when i went there at 62.
