Assisting a targets focus

I tried it today in Ramparts and noticed that if i waited 1sec after i have selected a target and then press heal it work 99% of the times. The other issuse i have is much the same, but it with my Totem Macros and mount, samy applies, i press my macro, and my main does the right thing, but my alts does nothing until i press somewhere in there windows. For example i choose to drop a Stoneskin Totem i press the stonesking totem macro, but my main only drops the stonesking totem, i can see in my slaves windows that the macro is being pressed, but nothing happens . Im getting tierd of having to keep pressing in the slaves windows, it's really frustrating especially in combat...
