Default newbie question for 2 boxing

Play EQ2 and would like to run 2 accounts on 1 PC. Currently can run 2 but its not smooth, very choppy even on extreme performance settings, system specs are:

    AMD 939 socket 3700+
    Windows XP pro 32 bit
    2 gig ram
    Geforce 7800GT PCI E x16 card
2 WG hard drives raided for stripping SATA 3.0gb

Would it be better to upgrade the MB,CPU and RAM ..OR.. would an upgrade to say a Geforce 8800 card do the trick. Also does running SLI make a difference? Im just looking to get the 2 instances to run smooth enough on performance settings.

    Thanks.

I think the bottleneck is probably that both instances of the game want to have the overlay of themselves, plus the processor has to jump back and forth between sessions. A cheap secondary computer would give you better performance at a lower price.

Or perhaps a dual core machine?

I own EQ2 but I have never actually played it as sad as that is so I cannot speak to its real requirements.

meh, my problem with running more than 1 instance of any MMO on 1 machine is that you need to use software to control both characters at the same time without switching screens. Theres no way in hell I'd level multiple characters from 1-70 in WoW just to see Blizzard come down with a perma-ban on me for violating the terms of service.
