Default Dual Boxing Priests in a Raid?

How realistic does this sound? I'd like to use the Heal the Focus's Target's Target style of Macros for most heals (except group/aoe heals like POM and Prayer of Healing)

Priest 1 Focus Priority List: MainTank, OffTank, Self

Priest 2 Focus Priority List: OffTank, Main Tank, Priest 1, Self

I'm asking because I'm considering leveling another priest and dual-boxing for Kara raids. Has anyone tried to do that already?

We're short a healer for our raid, I'm hoping to have one leveled up very quickly. I was hoping for some sort of reply or encouragement. If someone has done raid healing while multiboxing, I could use advice!

while this might be doable, I think you might have problems if your tanks/healers aren't overgearing the raid. Most likely what the perfect senario is gonna happen, your going to end up overhealing one or both of your tanks to keep them up and not get killed with spike damage. Probably though, you'll get behind on one tank faster than the other, over compensate your heals on the dying tank and the other tank will drop fast. just saying, might be ok, but I'd bring a 3 healer just to be safe, raid heal and spot heal. 2 healing the begining of kara isn't that bad, but towards the end, it's a big job for just 2 to handle

You'd just end up with a ton of overhealing, and not enough healing on the people who actually need it.

One way to multibox healers in raids is to have 10 separate buttons, 1 for each raid member, per character, so 20 buttons in total.
By "buttons" i mean keybinds. The easy way I do it is have a separate action bar page of 10 heals (buttons 1 to 0), manually type in each person's name (nightmare) and make shift+1-0 cause the second healer to heal a particular person.

I'm sure someone has thought of a much better solution, but simply healing the target of your target's target or whatever will rarely ever be useful.

    Default Buttons

I would think doing the buttons like this would prevent the 'over healing' issue that you're concerned about:

    1 - Priest 1 PW: Shield
    2 - Priest 1 POM/Renew
    3 - Priest 1 Heal
    4 - Priest 1 Flash Heal
    5 - Priest 1 Greater Heal
    6 - Priest 1 Prayer of Healing

    7 - Priest 2 PW: Shield
    8 - Priest 2 POM/Renew
    9 - Priest 2 Heal
    0 - Priest 2 Flash Heal
    - - Priest 2 Greater Heal
    = - Priest 2 Prayer of Healing

I certainly wouldn't have them targetting the same party member for heals unless there is only one mob in a pull and therefore only one person has aggro. That's why they would have different Focus Priority Lists. Also there is a 3rd healer who would be doing party heals. So in the LIKELY event that at some point during the raid a mage pulls aggro off of the off tank, for instance, the mage won't be totally hung out to dry.

Just how do you intend for those focus priority lists to work? is that some kind of addon?

to box 2 healers be it kara og 25 mans raid, have to be perhaps the biggest challance a boxer can have.
one ting is healing on two char, another is the be healing the rigth char(s) at the rigth time.
it should not be impossible, but very hard not to mention very quick hands and first class macro config.

if you where to be assigned to "main" heal 2 to 3 targets i can see how multiple flashheal and shield trowing will be a advantage to tosh around when needed.
but hard to put it mildly.

migth be possible to do someting like this
    button a
    healer 1
    target maintank
    cast flash 1
    button b
    target mantank
    cast big heal
    button c
    target maintank
    cast renew
    button d
    target maintank
    cast shield

    healer 2
    button a
    target offtank1
    cast flash heal
    button b
    target offtank 1
    cast big heal
    target offtank 1
    cast renew
    target offtank 1
    cast shield

those you can have on both healers, if you use the numpads to mix the heals up a bite with various other heals and targets and crosshealing
so both are toshing renew on numpad 9 and both are toshing big heal on num pad 8 and crosshealer on numpad 7 so both heal the same other targets.

ok bad explanation but should give you a very rough idea on how to configure this so it have a sligth chance to actually work, but it will be very hard i assume.

if you do try it, please update us on how you did it and how you configured it and if it worked or not

Never dualboxed healers, but if you use Clique and Grid and use your main screen for both chars, just ensure that the two grids are close to each other and then play whack-a-mole as usual.
I know that my healer got bored in MC / BWL and later kara and BT once the encounters were well known. So, if you're used to heal in the instance, I am pretty sure you should be able to do the same with 2 healers as well.

I think the main challenge would be staying out of the fire with two toons while maintaining your heals. I've raided with enough folks who can't stay out of the fire with one toon who's just mashing one button...

I would do something like using Healbot on the main healer, and keybinds on the other. Frankly, you are better off using a paladin healer for the slave and just spam FoL on the tank, and do everything else with the priest. You can heal with a paladin with just a couple of buttons.
