Default Problems Dual-boxing 2 accounts, one PC

System specs on the system are GREAT. GT8800xt, Dual Core 2.6GHZ processor, 2GB ram, system runs beautifully but I'm having a problem with my 2nd window (backround) lagging out when following.

I've tried setting affinity, and changing the way windows XP handles processes by focusing Backround services rather then just programs.

I also looked through the forums here and google searched, but came up empty.

Help please!! what could be causing this issue?

is the second window on a second monitor? and what program are you using to pass the keys?

I've found in most cases that if my alts are lagging it's my internet connection, at home i'm on dsl but if i move my pc to my brother's house nothing lags because he has cable. But with computers it could be anything really.

Let them hate, as long as they fear.

As of now it's being done on the same monitor (alt Tabbing) and not using Keyclone or anything to pass the keys .. basically just want to tow the 2nd account toon around, but it keeps breaking off.

    thanks for the prompt reply!

[edit] also, I can confirm with 100% accuracy that it's not an issue with the ISP. what happens is I set the 2nd toon on autofollow and alt+tab back to the main window. (currently running fullscreen 1024x768 res) the 2nd window follows, but has a slight stutter and I can watch as I autorun the 2nd toon get further and further away till it breaks auto-follow by distance.

I started two-boxing two days ago so i kinda new. I run a 4-5 year old Pentium 4 HT processor with a ATI 512 1600 and 4 gigs of ram. My processor is really old but still runs both accounts actually pretty good. So you should be able to run both accounts fairly easily. However my connection speed is 5mbps on cable... It could be your connection or lack of ram... I'm not an expert but I hope that helps out! Good luck!

hrm .. 2GB ram should be perfectly fine for dual clients, especially in Win XP.

and I'm running a 5mbps connection myself. It's a fault of the system / settings I'm positive, not the connection. I'm just not sure where to go to change the settings.

    thanks for the response though

I experience that problem when I dualbox on my desktop without using Keyclone. However when I do it with keyclone I dont have that problem, and that's with a single core AMD 3200 with 2gigs of ram and a Geforce 7900GT. If you can you should try Keyclone and see if it solves that issue for you. Keyclone lets you setup which wow runs on which core. (I do that with my laptop with a GMA950 and 1gig of ram on a core duo 1.8ghz and never really have problems at all.

So the issue is resolved now!

it turns out that the problem was with the clients not being windowed. Once i loaded the systems up in windowed mode it positively PURRED. Things are running very smooth now!

    Thanks for the suggestions all
