Well, wouldn't you be able to report your gold getting stolen to Blizzard?

Goldspammers ruin the economy. On some realms, where there'se bots that go spam in the city, a shaman simply places a magma-, or fire totem, logs out on a specific moment - totems become natural after the owner logs out - then, when a few seconds later it bursts out, it kills all lowbies!

Regarding the spam, doesn't an addon like "SPAM-ME-NOT" or SpamWarden work for you guys? I've been using it quite some time, and I've hardly seen any spam whatsoever.
This was a game exploit before Blizzard fixed it in a patch. If you do it still now, its a perma ban.
