Default Help on 2 account class choices...

Hi all! I am new to the forums, but have been reading and learning over the last two days. Thanks to the info here, I got Maximizer up and working (thank you all, that bumfuzzled me at first!) The only thing I have a problem with is class choices... I am using one computer, using Voice Commander to control my second character (so the second character would most likely need to be a support/healer class to make it easier), and I'm wondering which of these would be easier/faster to level using that method.

    My choices are as follows:
    main first/vc controlled second
    mage or rogue/pally
    mage or rogue/priest
    mage or rogue/druid healer
    pally/priest

I don't want to level a hunter, warlock, warrior or shaman (I have high levels of those already), but anything else yall could suggest would be soooo helpful!
    Thanks!!

Whats your goal? If you just want to get a toon to 70 quick, do 2 mages... spec both fire and dont look back

If you want to have the option of 2 different classes, then perhaps mage/priest. The priest can be spec'd shadow and still provide enough healing for both your toons + do damage and mana regen.

Well my goal is to get both to 70 then play them one at a time, possibly do some raiding after I transfer the second one to my main account... which is why I don't want to do 2xsame class. Mage/priest does sound fun, thank you for your suggestion =)

My favorite dual box combo, long before I bumped up to 5-boxing, was easily the pally (main) / mage (follower). Although I had the pally as my main, once he had aggro, I usually switched to primarily control DPS through the mage with AE/Bliz/Nova/CoC. It was more similar to playing two mains, just one following the other, instead of having the follower be nearly all macro-oriented. AoE tanking with AoE DPS, auras, blessings, buffs, food/water, ports, CC. Engineering and enchanting on the mage for jumper cables and DE/enchants, mining & jewelcrafting on the pally for ores & gems. Fun.
    Ex-WoW 5-boxer.
    Currently playing:
    Akama [Empire of Orlando]
    Zandantilus - 85 Shaman, Teebow - 85 Paladin, Kodex - 85 Rogue.

Definitely going to 4-box Diablo 3 after testing the beta for how well this would work.

Depends on your play style and what you want as a main toon in the end.

Originally I picked priest and warrior so I could have them quest together. Eventually I spec'ed them holy/prot and was in a guild that whenever they needed one or the other (often they wanted both) for 5mans or raids we were golden.

    A lot of people have support classes and a dps/grinding alt, so a (healer/tank) and a (rogue|hunter|warlock).

So if you leveled a hunter and a drood. You could spec ToL on the drood eventually and have a nice hunter to grind motes/leather with, do some dps fun stuff and never feel the downside of the ToL.

I think you will enjoy it so much that you wont want to merge the accounts. There is just no saying no to a well grouped pair of toons.

Sounds like you like mages and rogues, and want a healer as an "alt"?

If you go rogue, consider that a druid can catform stealth with you to avoid mobs you don't want to fight and perhaps later do chest farming stealth runs with you. They can also cast some HoTs while moving, which happens alot of if you need to reposition behind a mob during a stunlock.
Otherwise, consider that a pally can buff your rogue with blessing of might, and won't crumple if they pull proximity aggro when you're in stealth mode preparing your opener.
Rogue/priest is also a solid pair -- particularly considering the success this group has in things like 2's arenas. However, for leveling (and since you probably won't be arena'ing with them) you'd probably want it to go shadow for the extra DPS.

For mages, consider that a priest comes with Fort, Shield (to prevent spell pushback), and instant cast heals they can do on-the-run while you're AoE'ing or running away after a frost nova. It could also go as shadow to give you a nice mana battery.
Druids are good, but mages are squishy -- so if their hots can't keep up with the damage then you might be in trouble. On the other hand, though, a boomkin (who can spec dreamstate/healing touch) comes with a very nice spellcrit aura.
Pallies are easy to macro for healing purposes and give you Blessing of Wisdom. It can also consecrate (it helps to be specced somewhat prot) and help hold aggro if you want to AoE things. They can even BoP you if you're near death.
