I believe the links that I saw claimed that you needed to pay for "60 days" of game time. This is probably why people have been using game cards so that they can get the mounts immediately. Someone correct me if I am wrong.
you get xp bonuses regardless of 60 day game card or paying for the full game. u get 3x xp on trial accounts aswell. ^^^^ dont get confused by others telling you rubbish. ive been exploring this and speaking to GM's the last few days as i dont want to cock up my xp bonuses, id rather lvl fast with all chars not leaving any out.
