Mind control allows for a lot of creative uses. Buffing players of the other faction can help create some good will and prevent them from attacking you while you're questing. Of course other players don't know you only want to buff them, so you might have to chase them down. Which usually leaves them quite confused when you buff them and then walk away (note you need two characters to do this).
Actually... you can MC then cast ONE and only one instabuff before MC wears off. Oft times I've chucked a Shield or Pain Suppression on my horde rogue friend while he takes on more than one alliance
