Ok so the title might get some scrutiny but here's my xplaination as to why tripple xp is a joke. Rested XP is not awarded if your getting your so called tripple xp first and foremost. Second, if i kill a mob (both chars mage , lock lvl 21) lvl 22 on my own not grouped with my mage I get around 150ish xp per kill. rested around 300. grouped with my recruit a friend mage I get the tripple xp and total xp gained from killing the same mob is around a 150ish. Wheres the group XP when looking closer it says you killed w/e xp gained 150 (100 XP from recruit a friend). So you get the same XP as if you were on your own without the rested bonus. Quest turn in grants tripple which is nice but i normally play as rested and i think you end up losing xp in the long run when looking at rested xp from mob kills over quest turn ins.
I'll explain how XP works.
Killing an even con monster grants level*5 + 45 XP in the old world, or level*5 + 235 in Outlands. Rest bonus doubles that XP, and Recruit a Friend triples it, however these 2 do not stack. In a group, XP is divided, however there is a group bonus for 3 (x1.166) 4 (x1.3) and 5 (x1.4) person groups. The math becomes much more complex when mob and player levels are not the same, so I'll leave it at this for now.

Solo L22 killing an even con mob: 22*5+45 = 155 XP base, 310 XP rested.
Two grouped L22's killing an even con mob: (22*5+45) / 2 = 77.5 XP base, 155 rested, 232 XP recruit-a-friend.
Five groupled L22's killing an even con mob: (22*5+45) * 1.4 / 5 = 43.4 XP base, 86.8 rested, 130.2 recruit-a-friend.

So yes the XP per kill per character does go down, but not only are you earning this XP across multiple characters in parallel, a group of 2 should more than make up for it on a per-character basis simply by killing things faster.

Furthermore, the recruit-a-friend bonus does not expire until L60, whereas rest XP often runs out very quickly.
