If you are tired of WoW, you MIGHT like War( Atleast not more than WoW). If you still like WoW even a little bit. you will not like WAR. WARs PvP is not as fun as WoWs. period. The combat feels clumpy..slow..somthing.. its hard to put a finger on it. But WAR is all about PvP and its not as good as WoWs IMO!

I had very high hopes for WAR. I was a die hard DAoC player and thought that game did PvP the best yet. But even though WAR is being made by the same company, it just never grabbed me like DAoCs RvR did. Not 100% sure why though. You might love it, I did not.

My friend is in the WAR closed BETA, and i have had the change to see him play and test it for myself. All i can say it's good, better then AoC is but it's not superb. The only thing i really is against is the UI, before ( i'm talking months ago) they UI looked cool, new and fresh. But now it just looks like everything else, the good part is that you have a very advanced UI customination tool to use.
But i wont be quiting WoW for WAR, but that is just because i can't stand the idea with Tier 1 Zone - Tier 2 Zone etc with no real seamless world.

Maybe in a year, when they add in all the stuff they cut, and fix the tons of things that are imbalanced or just plain old broken.... I'll give it a 2nd look. But as it stands.. no way.

Two coworkers are in it, its a game with a gimmick but not much
else. The player versus player faction systems are pretty short loved. A whole server of nothing but Laughing Skull STV ... how much a month?

Much like LOTRO, after the depth of the gimmick is explored there
isn't a robust activity list. I had a lot of hopes for LOTRO, without playing it, and was excited. MPVP and the talent system were amazing, and the musical instruments. It would have been much better in WoW, glyphs to the extreme basically. The MPVP system I would really like to have in WoW, but it would crack the game which is so faction/lore based.

Not a chance that I'll be trying War. Having been so badly let down by AoC, I'm not in the mood to try anything new until I'm fed up with WotLK... whenever that makes its appearance

I'm going to try it out at least. I few people I know are really anxious to get the game so I'll likely play it with them for a month or two at least just to see how it goes. I'll probably roll a Rune Priest. I wanted to make a green skin, but too many of the kids that drop WoW to go to WAR are going to pick the "evil" side.

Like I said, I had very high hopes for WAR above any and all MMOs that have been in production ever! I pre-ordered 2 CEs and I will still get them and just hold on to them. Like Stabface said, ill wait until they have many updates. It could turn out to be a better game down the road.

EQ2 is a good example of a game that was less than perfect when it was released. And I'm so into WoW now or I would be playing EQ2. They made many changes over the years and it has turned out to be a way better game than when it came out.
