    Default Dual Hunters & PvP

I've been leveling up two hunters (lvl 42 right now) and looking far into the future. I plan to PvP and arena a bit with these guys, and wondering about other people's adventures. Specifically how to handle traps and such. Everything is mirrored, but if both my hunters do the same thing at the same time they don't utilize their cooldowns if they were used seperately, but I don't know how to set it up to make everything efficient. Anyone get far in 2v2 arena with dual hunters?

just need to set up your Round Robin type casting. Could make trapping alot easier along with Concussive Shot etc. I personally have never arena'd with hunters but i hear scorpid pets are nice for poison stacking so you can throw your Viper Sting on targets so its harder for them to cure it.

I would think that any team with a dps/healer class would give you alot of trouble unless you had alot of burst dps to kill the healer fast.

How would do this round robin casting?

    it's in Keyclone: Setup--->Round Robin

Wow, I never noticed that. That's really handy. Thanks. Just need to figure out which spells should be round robin.

Anyways, back on to the arena, any advice? I assume dual BM would be cookie-cutter, but I do not know exactly how well it would fair in 2v2 arena. I'm more worried about getting to 70 first though. Awesome.

Worry about getting to 70, things could change quite easily by the time you get there. Theres abilities in all 3 trees that are nice for pvp, so there isn't necessarily a set spec for hunters like there is for some classes.

How about macros? I mean, right now I use assist, but sometimes my slave hits the wrong target, which is fine when leveling because I can handle it, but in PvP it can cause mistakes. Should I make focus macros? I'm not to great at setting up focus targets or anything, but is it a must for PvP?

Well, I know this is another post, but I am still looking towards the end. I am about to hit 51, and I know I'm going 41 points in BM, but the other 20 points I can't decide between MM or Survival. Each one has pros and cons, and I will probably try both out and see which does better in arena, but here's what I'm thinking about.

    MM:
Hard to decide between imp stings and mortal shots, or even Efficiency and Imp. Conc. MM seems really good for killing people faster, heh, however...

    SS:
This gives me slightly more range, but LOS will be annoying regardless. With entrapment I can control things better. Same thing with imp Wing Clip (fun with 2 hunters) and decrease chance to resist traps. Also with Deterrence and Surefooted I can survive longer, and also my traps are slightly more effective.

My BM points might even be able to be spent better, I haven't experienced any PvP at all yet. On top of all that, I doubt splitting the points between MM or S would be all that wise either. It's a battle of increased survivability and more tricks versus more burst damage. Thoughts?

You really have to go 41 points in BM for PvP, otherwise you're vulnerable to fear bombs.

    *shudder*

It's not a must, no. There are very valuable ways to use focus in PvP though.

Focus vs. no-focus is entirely down to personal preference. I don't use the "focus main" approach myself because I think it leaves you very, very limited. I prefer to use focus for watching somebody (maybe timing a boar charge to interrupt a heal while I DPS down somebody else), crowd-control and cross-healing depending on the group makeup.

I also often hit multiple targets, and it's nice to be able to have one or more of my drones hit one thing while I hit something else. You can't do that so effectively with the focus approach.

You just have to get used to spamming the assist key and double-checking targets. Using a replacement unit frame like Xperl can help there, because you can see who your guys have targetted without having to look at their windows / screens.
