I meant to reply to this post sooner, but I've been too busy lately. I wanted to update everyone on my druid team (my first). I've been pushing the 60-70 lately instead of enjoying the instances because my small guild now needs me to fill in for kara runs. Anyway, I've successfully cleared Ramparts, BF, SP and UB. Granted, I was a little high level for those and my tank has been 70 and getting better geared the whole time. So this is my setup...

All boomkin. Maintank is dressed out in PVP gear: high armor + spelldamage. He's an uber threat machine. I go for sandwich breaks in the middle of boss fights when I play him solo. He's the only one who stays in chicken form, because, as you guys know, the aura doesn't stack. So behind him he has the "lowbies" lvl 68's now in tauren form. They're dressed in caster gear, leather and cloth mixes as I've been able to get from quests. Only one farmed piece of equip, the Starlight Gauntlets from Hungerfen as those are end-preraiding gloves with the right gems/enchants. No dedicated healer because a x4 Rejuv can handle trash and a x4 Regrowth can handle bosses.

Worse boss fight so far: BF on Broggok with the 4 waves beforehand. I've never main tanked before and I'm still learning how to get aggro and chickentanks have a big problem with multiple mobs (bears do too, really). When I know I'm gonna have a big group, I simply Barkskin+Hurricane to establish aggro. That gives me enough to keep heals from pulling them (remember my heals are spread out to 4 guys, so each individual heal aggro is relatively small). But Hurricane has a 1 min cd, so with 4 waves, that just sucked. I combat rezzed twice and I still ended the waves with 3 guys all of them with virtually no health and no mana (including the tank). The boss comes out and I pop 2 HOTS before the followers go down and I manage to solo the boss with my geared tank using my own heals, abolish poison and as many pots as I could drink on cd. It just sucked.

My last point is, no lvl 70 instances yet, no heroics yet. I see that healing could become a potential problem in the future because I've got no one spamming heals. So I've still go in the back of my head changing one of them to a tree and creating a castsequence to put in place for heal spamming. We'll see. So far, it's not been needed. I pop those 4 Regrowths and it completely fills my health and then for 18 secs no significant loss. Also, if I lose a mob, I establish aggro first and then an instance x4 Rejuv is all it takes to top that guy off again if the fight isn't over.

The advantage of Chickentank over bear: synergy. They're all just blasting away. If I need to back off on the lowbies, I just switch to click casting for a couple of blasts and then get back into it. Disadvantage: gear. Gear gear gear. I don't know why Blizz has hybrid classes pigeon-holed but it's just so hard finding the right gear for a creative role. My first 70 is a natural male enhancement Shammy... try looking up non-raid melee mail. </end rant> Anyway, luckily the pvp gear is fairly easy to get (easier than raid gear) and does the job perfectly. I put defense/stamina gems into them and he's coming along quite nicely now. There's an excellent website about chickentanking that I've been following like a bible.

That's the update. Probably less than a week I'll hit 70. I'll be doing AC for practice, SLabs for Kara keys. TC also. And as soon as I can scrape up 20k gold, Heroic Sethekk
