can u multi box w/o the follow command? like u press up arrow and both ur character moves, and are kinda stacked?

Yes, but not for long. Even if you get the characters facing the EXACT way (and I mean down to the exact rotation angle down to the third decimal place or higher), when you turn timing problems will appear and they will no longer be facing the exact direction/angle.

Software would be under a minute, hardware a bit longer.

He's right. Even when I spread mine out in a formation it only takes about 20 seconds for them to start dividing out in different directions
