Still one of my question remain un-answered.
Is it true that even if i get the ultimate vista 64, my pc will still not going to "see" more than 4gigs of ram? (even if i have more than 4gigs actually. Let's say i have 8gigs or ram atm).
The assistant kept telling me i will buy more than 4 gigs for no reason since no pc machine can actually "see" more than 4gig..
Please someone that know this answer for sure 100% tell me, i still have the 32er vista box sealed and can change it for the 64.
Thank you in advance for any proper reply.

32 bit can only see 4 gigs of ram, 3.5 gigs at that.

64 bit system can see much more then 4 gigs.

I am in the IT FIELD. Trust me 64 bit pwns in the memory department.

    1. dont get dual 280s, thats a complete waste of money for WoW. A single 280 is more than enough to drive 5 wow windows, if you have more than 2 monitors you can get a cheap 2nd video card

    2. Vista 64 bit can see something ridiculous like 4 terabytes of memory. You will be doing great with 8GB of RAM, 4GB is ok but you will be 10x happier with 8GB.

    3. Make sure you get Vista64, for a new PC no reason not to as said above.

    4. While your CPU/motherboard choice is fine, its pretty much top of the line and you don't "need" that. If something like the Q6600 is hundreds cheaper you may want to look into that. Its a personal choice of course, its just that usually the "very best" in CPU and video cards tends to come at an extremely high premium, and you can save 30-50% if you go down "one step" while only losing 10-20% in performance. A very acceptable tradeoff.

    5. remember WOTLK will be more demanding on computer/memory, and Intel/nvidia are releasing new products in a few months as well. Its a constant chicken and egg thing - imo its better to spend a little less now and upgrade sooner, than spend a ton now and try to hold off 2 years on upgrading. No matter what you buy today, one year from now you will be able to buy 2x the power for the same price.

Shops will usually always try to get you to spend the most money on the newest high-end gear - there's a much higher profit margin for them.

Everything puppychow and entropic said is true - there shouldn't be anything confusing about it. The numbers are arbitrary, but this is how you should look at it: What's the difference between 80 (q6600 systems we're suggesting) and 200 (qx9650, gtx280x2) fps in WoW? Your monitor *can't* display more fps than it's Hz - usually 60 or 72 for LCDs. Definitely not worth the major price hike it's taking to do this. My previous post lists all the great bang-for-the-buck parts that will give perfectly fine fps for 5-boxing WoW.

Whoever is telling you no 64bit OS will "see" more than 4GB is full of shit. Simple as that. I use nearly all of 16GB on a Vista 64 machine at work on a daily basis for building massive terrain databases (think the entire world polygons of WoW multiplied by about 1000x). I *know* we're using that much memory (sside from the fact that the system resources show ~14.5GB free) since our terrain compiler would crash with out-of-memory errors 5% into compilation. Now it completes successfully overnight.
    Ex-WoW 5-boxer.
    Currently playing:
    Akama [Empire of Orlando]
    Zandantilus - 85 Shaman, Teebow - 85 Paladin, Kodex - 85 Rogue.

Definitely going to 4-box Diablo 3 after testing the beta for how well this would work.
