    Default Warrior/Priest combo advice.

Like many, due to the new recruit a friend features, I've decided to give multiboxing a go. Right now i'm starting small. I decided to start a Warrior and a Priest. Essentially the warrior will be doing the damage with the priest providing heals. Right now I have it set up with both client windows running on the same computer and just moving the mouse back and forth. I really haven't started with the macro stuff yet as i'm not sure how it would work with two different classes. I was curious if anyone here had any advice on what macros I should set up and how I should play them. I have the obvious macros already in place (follow, invite, accepts, etc, etc) i'm just a little lost in how to streamline the process and make it as smooth as possible. I'm probably going to be getting another monitor as having both in window mode (even though i'm on a 22inch widescreen display) is a little small unless anyone has a better idea.

thanks. and great site btw, really helpful thus far.

well bascially i'm just looking for a tank/healer combo. down the road, if need be, I'd like to use them individually for raiding and what have you. but also maybe for pvp or whatever. what would be the best combo in your opinion for that? pally? druid? shaman?

    Hello and welcome.

First you need to setup some sort of key broadcasting software or hardware. Check the wiki for that.

In terms of macro's I'd recommend trying to categorize your spells across both classes, and come up with a simplified cast sequence macro for both of them. For example.

Your warrior's sequence might be something like (Charge, Heroic Strike, Heroic Strike....)

And your priest's might be something like (Shadow Word:Pain, Smite, Smite Smite)

Place these on the same combat button on your characters and then when you aquire a mob, you mash that button and both toons do their damage and kill the mob. As far as categorization goes, you're warriors taunt spell might go on the same button as your priest's fade spell. That way in the event your warrior needs to taunt (cause the priest pulled agro) your priest automatically fades also to help the warrior maintain agro.

Here's a more detailed priest macro for you.

/castsequence [target=target, exists, harm]Shadow Word: Pain, Smite, Smite, Smite [target=target, help] reset=target/combat Renew [target=target, help] Renew [target=target, help, modifier:ctrl] Flash Heal

Might be some syntax issues but the idea here is your priest has your warrior targeted. When you hit this key, it will run a DPS cast sequence on the warriors target if he has a mob targeted. If he doesn't have a mob targeted it will toss a renew on the warrior. If you hold control down, it will cast a flash heal on your warrior.

From what I've heard and read druids and paladins make great PVP healers. Endgame there is nothing like healing on a priest but that's my 2 cents cause I love holy priests. Level as shadow though man. You will hate yourself if you don't. Warriors are good tanks but take a lot of attention to be good tanks. Have you played a tanking class before? I'd strongly recommend a druid because they can tank very well, can be very fun to play as melee or caster DPS, and can play as an awesome healer, all in one class meaning you have some major options.

so you would suggest maybe doing a druid and a priest? I haven't done a tanking class before (have a 70 warlock, rogue, and hunter...so yeah dps) and decided to do a druid and a priest since my server is seriously lacking in both.

actually after reading some other posts I think i might go druid(feral)/druid(resto) seems like it would be the best/most fun option to take.

I dont think you should be running any sort of healing build if you're questing.

I'm new to boxing so maybe there is something im missing here, but surely the most efficient levelling you could do is by having both toons running PVE levelling builds and the one who can heal dropping out of form to heal from time to time.

Having 1 dedicated resto / holy healer following a dedicated DPS sounds like a much slower proccess. But like I said, I'm a newbie so feel free to correct me.

there is so few encounters atleast pretbc that needs a healer if your two anyway i dont see the point unless its a prot paladin or a warrior.

I would assume pulling heaps and heaps of mobs as a prot paladin and then aoeing with heals from a healer/hybrid could be a decent way to level.

Agreeing with robotats here. If you are planning on questing these guys up, running one resto is going to ammount to a lot of twiddling your thumbs. I'd spec one for feral DPS which is only a few talent points different from feral tanking. The second I would recommend specing into the boomkin tree as caster DPS which means that you'll split gear between them better and that your caster will also have semi-healer gear for things like soloing elites on the way up.

If you're looking to play endgame, I'd recommend diversifying a bit. A feral druid and a shadow priest could make a decent combo, and provide you with a lot of options endgame. Thy both do pretty efficient questing/grinding dps in my experience and are fun endgame classes with a lot of options out there for you later on.

Although i will say if you get your shit down with 2 druids, there are some videos floating around of 2 druids doing stealth heroic runs for easy badges. Might be cool to have 2 druids endgame and be able to solo (dual-box) instances with them by yourself. This is likely something I'm gonna do with some of my free levels from the new RAF bonus.
