Me and My Boyfriend are playing together in our house... we send an email to the support to explain why both accounts with different Owners are running with the same IP... cause we got a mail from the customer support why i'm running 2 accounts... i hope that helps a bit..

    greetings from Germany

    WOW! Really?

That's the first time I've ever heard of that! Could you post the email for us, please (with your account details removed, obviously) so I know what sort of thing to look for.

My wife and I have 11 accounts between us, and I've *often* had a friend over to play on his laptop. We've frequently had up to 15 connections going at one time from that single IP address (with the accounts owned and played by three different people), yet I've never, ever, been contacted by customer service either in- or out-of-game.

Not what I'm doing isn't, and I suspect I've been reported many times

What I do is all entirely legal and above board. I've been muiltiboxing since April 2007, and a member here since about May 2007, but Lanielle's post is the first time I've heard of a pro-active email (of all things) from a CSR to ask why somebody owns multiple accounts!

i could post the mail but i think you wouldn't understand a lot its all written in german...

The info says... Our system shows that 2 accounts ( account x + y ) with different owners are running over the same ip... till this date, both were running under different ip adresses...

The reasen... we live now together thats all what we have written to the customer support and then an GM talked to us ingame and said ... sorry for the inconvenience...

Post away. I live in Frankfurt

I guess the differenciator here is that you moved from two accounts, two IP addresses to two accounts from the same IP address.

It's still a bit bizarre though!

Me... Fiance... Roomate... Coworker... Friends x 3... yea, 9 accounts in from the same IP and never a problem here. I've even logged my accounts in from the USA one day and UK the next and France the next week and back to the USA... there is definitely behavior they look for, but it's definitely lenient.

I would also suspect that having the blizzard authenticator is going to cause them to worry about this sort of thing quite a bit less. Not that you should break the ToS, but more to the point, we'll see a lot fewer false positives due to it. Just conjecture on my part.

This guy did what you are planning to do. He had 2 accounts in his name, and one from a friend who quit. Almost identical situation. Then one day.

Subject: World of Warcraft - Account Retrieval Instructions
    Date: Thu, 19 Jun 2008 13:18:25 -0700

An investigation of your World of Warcraft account has found strong evidence that the account has been accessed by someone who is not allowed to use it. The account has been disabled, so that you can regain sole and secure access. If you use a credit card to subscribe, it has been removed so you are not charged while the account is disabled. Please keep this email until you have regained account access.

1.) WHY DID THIS HAPPEN AND HOW CAN I STOP IT FROM HAPPENING AGAIN?

Account compromises are usually a result of the registered user sharing their account, or playing on a computer that has a virus. Please remember that World of Warcraft accounts cannot be shared with anyone except one minor who you are the parent or guardian of. To help ensure that no viruses are present that may threaten your account, please regularly scan all computer systems that you use to remove all viruses, including Trojan files, spyware and key loggers. You can find links to scanners in our article about computer and internet security tips at (http://us.blizzard.com/support/article/20572). Also be sure to change your account password regularly at https://www.worldofwarcraft.com/account.

2.) HOW DO I GET MY ACCOUNT BACK?

Download and use this form to regain account access:

    http://ftp.blizzard.com/pub/WoW/othe...-Retrieval.pdf

For security reasons, we are unable to accept e-mailed attachments or links of any kind. Proper use of the form is the only way to retrieve account access. Please send your submission as soon as possible since Blizzard Entertainment is unable to offer any type of reimbursement for the time an account is disabled.

3.) I'M HAVING TROUBLE DOWNLOADING THE FORM!

The newest version of the free Adobe Reader© can be downloaded at http://www.adobe.com/. If clicking the link doesn't work, right-click it and choose "Save Target As..." to save the file to your computer. If that doesn't work either, reply to this message and we will send the file as an attachment.

4.) I SENT MY FAX, NOW WHAT?

We will contact you again once your submission is received and processed. If you do not receive a reply within 48 hours of sending your fax, please resend it and notify us of the refax at

    http://us.blizzard.com/support/webform-us.xml?gameId=11

If you send your submission by postal mail, please allow time for delivery. Thank you in advance for your cooperation and patience.

Only Account Administration is able to assist with account retrieval issues. To learn more about how Account Administration is able to assist you, please visit us at http://us.blizzard.com/support/article/21505

Thank you for your time and attention to this matter, and your continued interest in World of Warcraft.

No no no. This is what I was worried people would start reading into this thread as it wandered off-track.

That's all fine, so long as it's as described.
