I have 12 acnts but will soon be back to 7. I was going to try and get my own 10 man raid team. But i have FUN with 5 and i think 10 would be WORK. SO i have 7 that i will always use. 5 box team and a priest and mage for buffs/support.

Why do you assume he's trying to be a competitive epeen boxer? He never asked about a prize, only mentioned that he was curious if there were any larger scale boxers devoted beyond trial accounts. Even if he were interested in having the "title" for most boxed currently, who gives a crap? Why cry about it? Good for him. I remember Xzin posting in the official forums about being proud to have been boxing the largest group in the game. Most everyone thought it was kinda cool.Originally Posted by 'Vyndree',index.php?page=Thread&postID=97187#post9 7187
We're a community, not a competition? We help everyone? Seemed he was asking a question, not holding tryouts and ostrisizing the losers.
Where in the hell did he say anything about 2 boxers being "lowly", or even inquire if they deserve to get help here? WTF?
He doesn't know the answer to his question either, kind of why he asked if anyone else knew. Size doesn't matter? I'm not going to say it matters to me, cause it doesn't, but the longest running thread since I joined these forums is the SamDeathknight 25boxer thread.
Why are you trying to rain on this guys parade? No harm no foul. It was just a simple question... Stop being such a raincloud. Talk about high school drama club ftl.
I'm not saying he was, just clarifying that number of boxes isn't everything in this hobby. We don't really see too many 2-3 boxers speak their mind on the forums, and I want to make sure that it was clear that, despite his question, it's not a popularity race determined by number of characters boxed.Originally Posted by 'Naysayer',index.php?page=Thread&postID=97232#post 97232
If he was interested in there were larger-scale boxers or what their experiences were, I'd have been happy to point him towards the two 20+ boxers who posted some photos of their rather elaborate rigs on this forum long ago. Nixi's kara thread also has some great information from a 10-boxer's perspective. But he didn't want that, so I clearly admitted that I don't have an answer to his particular scenario -- my post was, in essence, "be careful you're not alienating the community by unintentionally implying that the number of boxes you use -- today, with full accounts -- is any measurement of success".
Intentional or not, his question had an air of elitism. I'm just asking, nicely, that we keep in mind to watch ourselves such that we don't alienate the 2-3 boxers.
TBC/Wrath Multiboxer: Velath / Velani / Velathi / Velatti / Velavi / Velarie [Archimonde (US-PvP)]
Was that the man/wife team who were running a guild/raid themselves? The ones who had the pictures of all of the boxes from the accounts they owned? I've always been curious about them, not much is known - or at least I don't know much.Originally Posted by 'Vyndree',index.php?page=Thread&postID=97257#post9 7257

accounts placed them higher upon the imaginary pedestal around here,
but if that's just something you wanted to proclaim I guess that's
cool. Just seemed like this guy was getting flamed for no reason. I
didn't see any arrogant pretension in his post. If he was being a braggart, flame away, but that's not what I see from the OPost.

So you do know of some, but you refused to tell him because you felt he
was being a braggart? Umm, why? Was it the part where he said "I'm
interested" or the part where he said "I BETZ I HAV MORE THUN U GUYZ
LOL PWNED"? wtf?
Regardless, I'm just going to drop it after this post. I don't agree with you at all, and I thought your post could deter people from wanting to ask legitimate questions here.
I have no idea what the OP did to deserve the borderline flaming that he got for asking what to my mind is a very, very straightforward question.
I suggest that if people don't know the answer they just don't reply.
Big props for running 15, Temor - I can barely manage 5 effectively![]()
I don't see it either, but who knows what sets people off? We've all had different experiences on messageboards and all have different trigger phrases and threshholds. Comparing mosts-of may be Vyndree's. Clear communication in informal text is too inexact a science to hold anything against anyone.
I also have enough trouble running five. I *want to run 10 and solo Kara, but I'm currently stuck on Herod so that's a leeetle ways off. In the meantime, I'll live vicariously through those with spare computers, patience, and hopefully Fraps!

I fail at forum searches. what threads with 20+ boxers showing off rigs? just curious. haven't been around very long hehe.
as an aside; i dunno. no one but the OP can really say what his motivation for asking was. This thread caught my eye (inspite of the somewhat odd title, i swear at first I thought he was asking what the most popular class was LOL) and i'm as curious as the next person what the answer is. Seems like a harmless question in an of itself, to me. Tho, he did say 'currently.' So I can see the whole 'epeen' angle, kinda. on the other hand, well, what was practical (and sane) yesteryear might not be sane now.
there is a very small number of 2 and 3 boxers about. But really, i think its because those folks are....probably legion. I imagine alot of people have a pocket healer or buffer or whatever, and just live with tabbing or a spare KBD and never bother trying to optimize things through keyclone or crazy things like vetras. I know that in EQ, for instance, you can't throw a brick without hitting a dual boxer. after 3 it gets pretty rare, and theres only a couple handfuls that run full groups(per server, i mean). WoW isn't as bad with the whole pocket healer thing, but I imagine for various reasons, more people than you think 2box. Eh, the point is that I doubt they are embarrassed to ask questions here, just, they have no reason to cause they get by without anything remotely fancy. I know I went years before stubbing my toe over keyclone (A video i saw made a reference to it, and then I found this forum, lol)
and @ OP, what do you do with 15 chars anyway? BGs? Just curious. Props either way.
I'm running 10 actively raiding Kara every week. I've taken a couple pot shots at ZAM but have yet to down any bosses.
10 is work. I can't really imagine trying to do any more than 10 in WOW's current state.
Battlegrounds? My toons lag out and it's not like I can complete any objectives anyway if I were to spend the money to upgrade my internet connection.
World PVP? Non existant on my server. Horde outnumber the Alliance by a large margin and even in a server with healthy populations of whichever faction your trying to kill I can't see it being entertaining for longer than a couple hours. 10 characters is more than enough to 1 shot anyone, so why go for more?
Raids? I can't do Netherspite because it requires more than 2 independent actions, what 25 man boss doesn't need more than 1 person to think? Maybe molten core, but that is old news now.
Seriously, managing my toons is becoming a full-time job. If everyone was the same classes and complete clones of one another, then it might be a bit easier, but dammmnnnn I'm starting to get burntout just preparing to play my 10 guys. Mods break, macros to be copied across computers, banks/inventory to manage, crafting professions, consumables, AH games, Arena, x 10 omgmyheadhurts. ><
