Default Starting with Multi-Boxing on one machine

Hey all i am a newcomer here.

I played real wow before but it was getting bored . I always wanted to play other classes and several characters .So i decide to start with multiboxing at one machine with 5 accounts . And i asked myself if it is possible to play on my computer with 5 accounts . I already tried to play two WoW accounts and it was going very well . So my question is How do i need to start with it ? . Let me tell you a bit about my computer

    PROCESSOR : AMD Athlon(tm) 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 4200+
VIDEO CARD : NVIDEA GeForce 7900 GT
    PHYSICAL MEMORY : 2047 MB
OPERATION SYSTEM : Windows XP Professional (Service Pack 2)

And i got two Screens ---> SAMSUNG 19inch screen
    ---->PROVIEW 17ich screen

So my question is . What Hardware and Software i need to multi-box . I have read on this site that i nee Keyclone and alot of macros to handle it .If there is some one that can tell or help me a bit i would appreciate that .

    Thank you for reading

That machine will not handle 5 wows.

2gb of ram is enough for 3, maybe 4.
That video card is VERY outdated and so that will be your biggest shortcoming.

Also, using two screens with one DVI / VGA port (where you plug in to your video card) will usually cap fps at 15 on the second monitor due to weird drivers.

G'afternoon Saight and welcome to the forums!

your system looks fine.. but i would consider bumping your memory to 3gigs ... works better with 5 wows.

as for setting up, odds are good you would have your main on 1 screen (probably the 19") and the alts in a 2x2 configuration on the other using keyclone's built-in maximizer. this is how i play currently.

once you set up the maximizer layout and define your wow commands (make sure to set your maxfpsbk and maxfps... it really saves your cpu and gpu from unnecessary usage)... you'll be able to run all 5 of your wows by clicking a single button.

setting up keyclone is fairly simple and (normally) a time task. the rest of your set up is defining the macros in wow. you can get away with the basic /assist and /follow macros.. they work and it allows you to get up and running fiarly quick... where you'll start to understand multiboxing a bit more. somewhere when your 10..20, you may want to modify your macros... at that point, just let me know and i'll step you through a few.

(i usually don't recommend going for the big macros right away, as many people would get overwhelmed with new information.)

if you have any questions, please feel free to drop me a note.

have a great day and welcome to the addiction,

    Rob (keyclone developer)

    Oh yes.
After a new OS installation, I started playing again and wondered why all four CPU cores were at 100%... Then I realized that the five WoWs were running at 80ish FPS. I set it back to 15/45 in keyclone and the CPU usage went back to 45% (Q6600).

check your wow graphical settings (link: http://www.dual-boxing.com/wiki/inde...Graphic_Detail )

also, UNCHECK vertical sync in wow/video/settings

after that, check the sampling.. 24/16/1 are the numbers i use (i'm not at home to check wording here)

i would make all those changes to 1 wow... exit to save.. then start all my wows up, hopefully with the new settings (unless you have multiple directories, in which case you'll have to set each individuallly)

also, watch your screen resolution. higher == more pixels == more work for the graphics board

let me know if any of that helps.

    good luck,

    Rob

setting the maxfpsbk to 15 is fine...

but what is the maxfps on each?

and what is the fps on the active and inactive wows?
