Thread: Nagrand = STV?

    Default Nagrand = STV?

Wow.. I hadn't had a problem with world PvP in Outlands. The occasional run-in with a couple 70's or so, but no big deal. However, I took my first trip into Nagrand last night, and over the course of a few hours and a few separate log-ins, I was repeatedly getting flogged by large groups (6-12+) of PvP epic'd lvl 70's. Is this now the way Nagrand works? Feels like I'm back in STV about 3.5 years ago..
There are so many great quest rewards, so I don't really want to skip the area, but this is crazy. Maybe it's just my server, or I picked a bad time to play (Sunday afternoon..), anyone else have this experience in Nagrand?
    Ex-WoW 5-boxer.
    Currently playing:
    Akama [Empire of Orlando]
    Zandantilus - 85 Shaman, Teebow - 85 Paladin, Kodex - 85 Rogue.

Definitely going to 4-box Diablo 3 after testing the beta for how well this would work.

With the daily quests there as well as all the air motes to be farmed I plan on steering clear of this zone.

You might have better luck on a weekday, but I'd suspect you'll still run into some trouble.

I'd say yes, this happened to me all the time there as well. Some days I earned it, others I didn't. Normally within 10mins of killing a single person 8+ people come to punish you for it. I enjoy it ^^ On week nights it's normally not that bad or not even a problem however.

Due to Blizzards position on Hong Kong, money > freedom. I stopped playing.

ON my pvp server I did not have a problem with that zone. I ran with 4 locks and 1 shadow priest. some would start but they would most likely die.

Most wait at SSO areas now. I have to say this is much worse than any other zone.

That's why my approach on Mag is to generally level in instances or far out zones. On Saturday I had about 2 hours to play, tried to do some stuff in WPL and was camped by a 70 mage in Andorhol for almost the whole time. Its just not particularly efficient.

Not to derail this thread, but, I've read lots of posts about people with gank stories and having to go out of their way to level all because it's a PvP server. So, my question is, why roll on a PvP server? What is the appeal? Do the benefits out way the hassles?

I've never rolled on a PvP for the simple fact of these types of hassles. It would just piss me off too much.

    Sincerely,

I was getting ganked about every three hours on average, and that was while multiboxing a 3 or 4 man group. So yea it was the worst. But on the lighter side, once you're out of there, I was never ganked in Blade's Edge or Netherstorm - presumably because 70s steer clear of those zones as the players are higher level and ganking becomes more difficult, but also because the zones are more sparse and there's less for 70s to do there.

A group of folks that I know IRL play on a PvP server so we're all in a guild together, more or less. My opinion is that it conveys no benefits, unless you consider ganking a benefit which certainly can be the case. I'd prefer not to be on a PvP server, really.

We hate being ganked but we love ganking.

That's why we roll on PvP.

I honestly havent had that much trouble in nagrand on 6 lvl 70s. It might be a lot different for MBing because of the extra hate generated by doing it. Im a good ways from nagrand though I should hit 41 tonite with my team tonite.
