What helps me tons with questhelper and reduceing the lag is to reduce the route calculation on all the other ones to 20% and keep high on the main.
That way it still tracks all the others quest and what not :P

Only thing that might be kinda annoying is its take a bit longer for it to register when one or more have completed the a quest not that big of a deal.

/qh setting will popup a menu
By setting /qh hide on your foloower (or press the button questhelper on the map) you will stop route calculation on your followers (they dont have to). But route calculation will continue on your main. So even less stress on the system. That is what I tried to explain with the first post.

The completion of quests is lag between interfacing from alts to main. I believe they are always the same. Even with processing on on the followers.

ok - so /qh hide, stops if from doing calcs and hogging the minimap. what turns it back on ??

Id like to add this into my pip macros so that when i switch mains ( which i do a lot to make collection quests easier ) it switches on the qh of the new main on and switches off all the others

I think the point of questhelper in terms of use by multiboxers has been lost at some point.

The entire point of using is that it tracks your alts! You can manage five characters quest log from your main, even if they are all different. I haven't found another quest-helping type mod that supports this.

If all your quests on all characters match 100%, its no biggie... but even if one gets off, or you miss a pick-up on one character, questhelper (if installed and configured on all WoW instances) WILL save you from leaving one behind.

Now, I haven't heard of carbonite before, so I'm checking that one out now...

EDIT: Wow.. didn't realize carbonite is a subscription based addon. $1 / month is cheap, but still.. subscription for an addon!?! no thx! (there is a free version, but it seems gimped)
If you look around their site you will see that the addon Carbonite Quest, is free, you can get it from curse and other sites. the paid one is an extended special edition or something.

But, like questhelper, carbonite used a lot of memory for me, so i use neither.

Nowadays i just use QuestsFu and JasonQuest to track the quests on all my chars.

Just tried carbonite, seems to me like a copy of questhelper with aload of other addons thrown into it. I removed it after 5 minutes of using it, if questhelper was to ever stop being updated then id use carbonite. Im sure either carbonite has ripped questhelper or vise versa, as the text above the arrow is exactly the same. I Dont like addons with loads of stuff i dont need thrown in, i prefer simple things of course if anyone has any arguments to why i should continue using carbonite feel free to tell me :P I may of course have missed something out that is useful

carbonite's locations are far more accurate (usually) but at the same time, it's pathing is poor (the order it picks to do quests in) and yeah, it has no idea what's going on with your party.

QuestHelper is overall a more helpful addon for completing quests in a timely manner.
