lol nice, well just think of it this way.. pre-bc to Bc transition.. gold was 5x easier to come by.. probably be the same for WOTLK so it won't as hard to get that much. That much gold in wotlk is probably like 1k-2k right now in bc.. hopefully anyways.. lol

You also need to look at the fact that #1, she is faction related to, I think the city faction, so you can get them down to 6400G each. #2, it is vendor loot, other then the teleport, how good will those be stat wise? And #3 will you even need/want a teleport to Dalaran will it be worth 8kG, even after WoTLK inflation?

Interesting, I read a quote somewhere they wanted to put more money sinks in. Traditionally the Blizz design team have disdained letting you buy any decent gear at all, forcing you to grind new kinds of 'money' like honor or heroic badges. If it's possible to gear up completely (at least to a starter set) by just being stinking rich, that's intriguing. Altho, current faction gear is far cheaper than this, and some of it is pretty good (SSO caster necklace for instance).

How good are these rings compared to level 80 badge gear and drops in heroic 5-mans?

I think my gals are still dead where you left them. I have gotten alot of resistance from my guild into allowing me to even try raiding. I have done kara once with my guys. Maybe it is time for a change of guilds.

Hmm, 20k a toon, how many respecs would it take for that to be worth it.... 20,000/50 = 400 ... or about once a day for just over a year. If you could do it on the spot whenever you're out of combat, that just might be worth it for hybrids.
