But it was a good idea, and once my lock in my pve team finally hits 70 I will do similiar tests.
If you look at the skill sets, you don't gain any significant bonuses in pet skills from 60-70. FG's get cleave 3, a new taunt and a new intercept, which all have basically no significant effect on overall DPS. Similarly, hunter pets only get one more rank of their base damage skills and one more rank of stamina/armor, which more than offsets that last cleave for the felguard.

Bottom line is that BM hunter pets positively demolish demonology-spec warlock pets in both raw DPS and survivability/avoidance/resists, with the sole exception being the felhunter resists in PVP. Granted, the utility of lock pets like succubus and felhunter are much better in some PVP situations. I only see this gap widening in WotLK. I'd be happy to test this on Mag with my locks vs your hunters pets (I'm demonology spec still).
