Tauren or Draenei? and WotLK end of multibox PVP?

Hiya guys. I'm new to boxing but already did a couple of test runs with trials accounts. Some things i just can't get my mind made up about though and perhaps you guys can answer from experience:

1. I know i want to box 5 shammies, but i can't decide on Tauren or Draenei and i want to do it right from the start. Taurens have warstomp which to me seems essential to try any pvp with, but is it really?. What's your view on this? The reason i'm asking is because i've been playing alliance for years and i would have to reroll on a different server to play taurens.

2. Another thing i noticed is how wotlk seems to be the end of multiboxing pvp because of the new pushback / pull type of abilities that will be introduced, which will rip apart any group and will probably break /follow. (The deathknight 'death grip' ability or the new elemental shaman end talent 'thunderstorm' are some examples). Again i'd love to hear how you guys think about this. My reason for this question is that i still have to roll my team and wotlk might be released by the time i get them to 70. If pvp will be so much harder i might as well skip it all together and....roll draenei xD.

3. I'm also still trying to decide where to roll. Is The Zerg on Al'Akir europe an active multiboxing guild? The idea of doing 25 mans with all multiboxers sounds great, but i will be leaving my old server for it and afaik community is a big part (if not the biggest) of wow.

I thought grounding totems where only vs single target spellcasts, not aoe or physical abilities. Ohwell, we'll see...it's just that i don't picture myself a very skilled pvp-er and stuff like this might just make things too tough for me to enjoy it at all. Cheers for the reply =)

And that pulling in spell works both ways. You can have a DK in your group and pull people/mobs into your group. :thumbup:

This is going to be great in arenas. All those pole dancing teams in the higher brackets are now going to get pulled into the open and nuked!

I'm not sure about Al'akir, but Aggramar EU on alliance side has 8 active Multiboxers atm. We're in a channel and exept for one, who's 70, all between lvl 40-60.

4 x 4 shammy + 1 pala

myself 4 shamans

3 mages

3 hunters, resto shaman, prot paladin

And another one, but i can't remember who that is atm >.<

I don't see this as the end of multiboxing :) I see it as it's rebirth into something rly challenging and fun :) sure it may be hard, but that in my mind is half the reason most of us chose to do it in the first place :)

I imagine you are thinking of a dreadful situation where a shaman jumps you and sends your toons flying off in an even circle away from each other (out of reach of follow or heals).. that won't happen.
Geometrically he would have to activate the spell precisely on top of the group (ie where your 4 clones are standing on top of each other). Then they would need your toons to be fractionally off-centre for them to fly off in different directions.

the only time you may run into trouble and have all your toons catapulted in different directions is if they combine fear+thunderstorm at precisely the right time.

what I imagine will most likely happen is that your main will fly off and your clones will go together in a different direction, which isn't all that bad (probably around 45yrd from each other), run towards ur clones making sure you are dropping ur tremor and grounding totems again and heal up is necessary.

lets not forget you have an advantage too ^^, they need to get right on top of you to do this, you can do it when they reach 12 yrds.

Also the pulling this is rly funky, and will acctually work to your advantage most of the time :) if they pull your main, you can be 100% sure they will be attacking him, and him only, probably even to the extent that they will leave their LoS shelters thinking "kiel it!!" In the mean time you just blast them to kingdom come, and Thunderstorm if it looks like ur in a little bit of trouble :) (skilled teams might use it to pull you away from your group and kill them though, so be ready)

as for the Tauren vs Dr.. uff.. I couldn't help you there.. Gift of the Naruu makes up for warstomp imo (just make sure you can selectively cast it on your team). being able to dps whist being healed is an imba asset. although warstomp on the other hand has saved my life quite a few times :)

Hi there mate.

The Zerg - Alakir is down to Los and me. Nothing is happening there in a sence of a guild. And tbh as it looks atm i would rather have stayed where you are if you enjoying that server then to reroll here. If you dont like it there i'd be happy to box with you here. But the guild is dead somehow. maybe someone will comeback ofter the summer who knows....

Allie of hord. I dont think warstamp will make that huge diffrence tbh. Ofc its a nice pvp ability.. Maybe the best one ever. But there is plenty of allies shammys boxers out here that manage just fine without it. And also, if you stay allie, and stay on your server you will have gold, enchants, boosting etc for your toons from your mains.

Death of PVP. If you are right then i will just stop playing when expanson comes out and. As pvp is the only reason i enjoy this game. But, as ppl say.. i dont think it should be that much more pain in the ass then fear allredy is. And.. have you looked at the shammy spec tree... It will be insane. We will get NS and totem of wrath at the same time. So we will outcounter so much resilions with all that extra + crit and also haveing the finish off button rdy. Our bolts will have a chance on proc to slow ppl down and since we cast 4 at the time we could say that it will allways be activated on our inc target. Our frost shock will have a chance on freezing ppl like frost mages do. And sice we cast 4x.. we should also expect it to proce in most times aswell... Our fire totems will also slow ppl down....
This all comes down to that we will easier kill ppl when they are moving in on use.... PPl cant no longer run back and forth from pillers etc and go over defencie on us... And we will most likely crit alot even in pvp. Which will incred the DPS output alot... So yes.. maybe the can know us back.. but they will have to mange to get close enough for it aswell.. And on top of it all.. we get our own Sheep thingi spell. Hex :D

Personaly i think that we will be even stronger as a boxing shammy grp in WoTLK then we are now.
