Hey, I have recently finished boosting my alt from 1-60, in about 1 day and a couple hours played time if you wanna know (brag):p
with the beloved protection paladin.
now i'm wondering which instances is best to boost in from 60-70? it felt like ramps and bf had too many stunners and pushback mobs which makes me loose aggro sometimes, so I feel kinda lost here
and I don't wanna do the same old quests in outland again, or do I have to?
60-70 is fun, do it the normal way, the quests and whatnot are awesome item rewards to help gear out your character.
alright I guess so, but there must be an somewhat effective alternative for instance boosting, does anyone know?
Do you care about the Outlands reputations? If so then run the instances to Honored then do the quests. It's fast, and you'll end up hitting 70 somewhere in Terokkar.
Do you want epic flyers? The best way to get gold is either dailies or normal quests. So you want to try and save as many as you can. Note that quests that req 62 or lower don't give much gold at 70 so you can do all of HFP and Zangar without affecting your income at 70.
There was no reason to add your brag as it means nothing without visual proof, which of course is easily photo shopped and still invalid. Aside from that, I to just finished "boosting" with a prot paladin, and even being A+ game efficient you are over a day by 40. That is with Stocks @ 2 pulls, SM arm @ 2, Cathedral @ 3 hitting reset limits. Unless you happened to stumble across another exploit like which was fixed a month or so ago.
So, now that I've called BS. Hit Slave pens, tank with your pally, pay a geared 70 warlock/mage, minimal penalty. Tank, they nuke, bring free level 60 healers, not too much frustration in SP.

I did it for the first time with my warlock recently and it was about 1 day 10 hours - which includes all the first time multiboxing setup, learning all the instances, tons of wipes and trial and error, testing rfc, wc, and deadmines before settling on sfk, etc. My lock was doing about 14 minute runs of cathedral. I think a prot paladin can do it in about 7 minutes. To avoid lockout you switch between cathedral and armory.

You could just wait til WotLK comes out, and solo level your booster to 80, then boost the 60s in outland stuff to 70. I bet a lvl 80 tank could solo most of outland 5 mans...
I just got my team to 58, and I will be doing quests until all I have left are 63+ (for 70 gold farming later) and going the rest of the way to 70 in instances. The gear is better, no worries about gankage (PvP server) good user experience for heroics (my goal anyway) and good experience for 10 mans. I'm still pondering 10 boxing, but it's so time consuming to level 1 team to 70, leveling another might kill me!
Wow, I didn't realize this community was full of extremely sensitive people. Did you even bother to read my first post? I just finished reading it about eighteen times for my own clarification and there was nothing out of the realm of nice. My response post to someone saying "Nice impression for a first post" was in its rightful place, someone accusing me of being a "bad" person for that post, completely justifiable response on my part.

"There is no reason to add your brag" <= um, does this make you cry, is this hurtful...he called it a brag, I said there was no reason to add it. I then justified my statement with my personal experience of boosting and went right into addressing the topic. So why take the time to respond to my reply signing that it is somehow mean spirited and a bad impression, when the individual clearly didn't care enough to answer the OPs question. And thus onto my response, he ignored the OP just to tell me how bad my first impression was...thus, people like that deserve only one finger.

You have posted some legit questions in another thread and so I know that you are not a troll and it's not like the community will hold a grudge against you but yes your first post and the couple after it were quite derrogatory and insulting. If you can't see that, then reread it again another 18 times. In the future don't sweat the small stuff and post in a manner that's all constructive, not half a flame right off the bat then trying to throw in a few comments to the original idea of the thread.
If you want to get to 70 quickly, then I think you'll have to put up with questing. Yeah, getting 60x Timber Worg Tails is a pain in the ass (seriously don't know why I'm still doing collection quests), but man you fly through the killing and group quests. I had issues with ramps and bf initially at 60. I ended up going back at 62 and it was much easier. With rested bonus, the xp wasn't too bad. The key for me is that it helped me be a better m-boxer. I didnt' have a lot of experiences with the team doing instances on their own before going to Outland (well, I did spend 4 hours in BRD once.....once).
So, my plan is to mix questing and instancesing (that's hard to pronounce for a made up word), and doing each instance until I can get the strats down pat. Oh, do instances when you have double xp.

Hey man! Wow, grats on getting to 60 so fast that is just amazing, YOU TIED ATHENE's RECORD with the method that was banned! You should help us out so we can be as awesome as you, woot woot. Back to the point, I think the fastest way to 70 would be to DO WHAT YOU ARE CURRENTLY DOING!, the xp obviously will just go down in halfs to about 65, so keep that up and you should be to 65 in a half a day or so!

I actually didn't do much questing from 60-70. I completed about 75% of the HFP quests at 58-60 then farmed hunter gear in Ramps for much of 61-62 (mail legs, leather belt). At that point I quested in Zangarmarsh and Terokkar, but was back in Slave Pens and Underbog through much of 64. I did take some time to do most of Nagrand from 64-65, but then stayed in Auchindoun (LOTS of Mana Tombs, Auch Crypts) until 68. Then it was a few Old Hillsbrad runs followed by Sethekk Halls, and now I'm 69 and will prolly grind rep from Old Hillsbrad and Auch Crypts until 70.
Essentially, I let my gear needs/wants drive my questing after 60. It was just too painful to do the collext X quests otherwise. As always, ymmv, but it's possible to stick to instances if you can stomach a little repetition.
Ah good ol' mana tombs. Its my favorite instance both while lvling and now running it heroic (I dunno why so many ppl hate it, its the fastest 4 badges in the game imo).Quote:

I agree BF may be your best bet here, I "Tanked" it with my mage in pvp gear and my lowbie drood I was boosting healing me and had little problem.

Really, I don't have a weird way of dealing with things. Personally, I don't see how calling someone out on an exaggeration is overtly rude. Many of us come to this forum to share ideas and experiences; those are tainted when mixed with fiction, so I understand PP03's mindset when he made his original reply. I read it just after he made it, didn't find it commentable. Nor did I find the criticisms of him, or his rebuttals that commentable. The drama isn't why i come to this board, so I ignored it. However, his original reply had content. He pointed out that the guy was obviously exagerating. His language may not have been as padded as others would like, but I don't see how flaming someone to call them a flamer is defensible in any way.
Lets remember we are here to share ideas, experience and knowledge, not fiction, not drama. Try to overlook when people use harsher language than you would have.
PP03: Obviously, you feel ambused somewhat. The whole situation got blown out of proportion, there are some strong personalities on this board that get cranky sometimes; that's life.
That being said; I followed Suvega's tips and did the HFP, Zang and some Terrokar quests and then ground to 70. However, rather than doing instance grinding, I ground for Primals so that I'd have enough for epic crafting profession gear once I hit 70. I didn't win any speed records, but I'd have to grind the matts anyway, might as well get XP for it.
This is actually kinda key. For me at least I was starting to burn out during the last stretch to 70. Finding something you can grind for may help. I chose to grind out as many enchanting recipies as I could (I got really really good at speed running crypts) and went from 68.5->70 just getting those. I had motivation to keep going because I knew if I wanted to grind these at 70 it would be a real waste of time (do to not getting xp or even rep for most things).Quote:
