Help with Keyclone

I just recently started dual-boxing. I set everything up last night, and for the first hour or so everything was running smooth. I was settin' up hotkeys/macros, gettin' muh groove on pwnin' mana wormz with my two mages, and all of a sudden Keyclone fails. I guess I accidentally x'd it out, or something.

Anyway, when I tried loading it back up I kept getting the "Send/Do Not Send" error, not telling me much other than that it crashed. So, I deleted, Keyclone, reloaded it, and everything worked... except...

Now, no matter what I do, every keystroke is cloned. Even when I set it to clone only certain keys (1 thru = and tab) is still clones everything. Enter, space, all keys on the keyboard are cloned.

Is there anyone out there kind enough to fill me in on how to get this back to it's original state (only cloning 1 thru = and tab)?

i'm at client site (my real job) during the day... available for keyclone support usually after work... which varies from 5-7pm M-F.. available nonstop from friday after work until sunday 11:59p (all times EST). and a few times during the day i am able to hit emails and the forums

I'm also having trouble with keyclone maximizing my windows.

I did, yeah. I just didn't have any regions selected at the time of screenshot.

Top is region1, bottom is region2.

When I load keyclone they start automatically. I don't press anything.

Mine is set up pretty much the same way, except I'm only using two regions and my CPU is set to specific regions.

I don't understand why I'm still not getting the seamless affect, and why they're not aligning correctly.

Can I get a shot of your "command editor" with one of your commands selected?

Okay... I just got it to replicate your problem.

I am pretty sure that the "regions" that you named in maximizer do NOT match the regions you are assigning in your command editor. Double and triple check that for me.

Both Auto-Add Windows Tiled and Auto-Add keymap are both unchecked. Not sure which you were referring to, but none-the-less, they're both unchecked.

I can't figure it out either :(

I've triple and quadruple checked, I even renamed them just to be sure, and it's still doing it.

Anything else that could be the problem?

well if that is true and maximizer is enabled on you maximizer page... then... your keyclone installation sounds borked. (borked is a technical term)

Delete the keyclone.ini file in your keyclone directory. And try again.

It's the only thing I can think of.... I am sure KC will correct me though.

Still brings both instances up back to back. I'm not giving up, dammit!

seriously I got mine to exhibit the same exact thing.... piled one wow on top of another and put them in the ugly windows boxes. This was due to the fact that the regions were not named the same thing as what I was pointing to.

So it is very clear to me that your problem lies in maximizer somewhere.

After deleting the .ini file you did re set up your maximizer regions right? (I'm sure you have). no extra spaces in any of the region names? (I am sure there are none)

I dont' know what to tell you except delete the whole thing and re download keyclone and start over.

I know that is not what you want to hear.

You ARE running keyclone as administrator right? Cause you are using Vista if I remember correctly. On Vista you have to run KC as administrator.

I set up maximizer, made sure the region names matched exactly in command setup, no spaces in the names, and still it comes up with the ugly boxes.

I will try re-downloading KC, see if that works.

Hopefully it does =/

I can provide screenies of the new KC regions/commands if it still doesn't work.

PS; I'm running XP Pro.

Sigh... okay, I redownloaded KC and still it won't work.

Your system tray doesn't show more than one Keyclone running does it? (doubt it but just checking)

What are you using to skin xp to look that way? Third party program or XP itself? If a third party program you might try disabling that.

Well, unfortunately for me...

That solved the problem.

The program I use to skin windows is called WindowBlinds. This, apparently, was preventing my windows from maximizing into neat little borderless windows.

Might want to let people know that this is an issue so no one else has to spend hours screwin' around with KC like we just did, lol.

Oh, and one more thing... I'm guessing the only way to have the WoW windows in front of the taskbar is to hide the bar?

whoa.. nice thread.. sorry i'm late getting to it

i have seen this type of behavior a couple of times. it's very hard to figure out remotely.
the trick i have found is this:

if you run the commands, and wow shows up.. then you commands are correct
if your wow does not maximize.. there are only 2 possibilities..

1. the region names don't match or you stack more then 1 command in the same region
2. another application window runs first, keyclone grabs it.. it runs wow, then disappears... keyclone then has no windows in the list

the way to differentiate the 2 quickly would be whether or not the commands end up in the keyclone list

if they are in the list, and assuming auto-add is UNCHECKED, then the problem is region names (or maximizer not checked)

if they don't show up.. then you have the tougher problem described in #2

Actually, right click on the task bar and select properties, then uncheck "keep the taskbar ontop of other windows." Autohiding the taskbar will still allow it to pop up when you move your cursor to the edge of the screen. By unchecking "keep the taskbar ontop of other windows" you'll never have the taskbar pop up on you.
