Well, it's a bit random but tank groups will probably be the go-to comp yet again for another expansion. Most DPS have lost their durability and the pressure the 5 man dungeons will put out will favor an all tank group.
Trinity comps are going to have it harder in BFA than they did in Legion as far as I can see.
I am sticking with 2 Dk teams both blood one on Runetotem and one on Mal'Ganis , then we shall see what team will be next good luck on your Journey.
Trinity Setups work, but they are a ton of effort.
In hindsight I should have done my paladins first, and then the trinity group second.
Oh well, other 4 paladins are on their way to 120 lol.
Heroics in BFA are significantly harder to multi-box than other expansions.
There are a couple bosses with some pretty specific mechanics that require a lot more effort than normal.
In legion all pali tank groups were great early on but towards the end they just couldn't put out the DPS, I was wishing my main team were DKs.
With how quickly everyone has been getting to 120 I don't see a problem if I have to try out a bunch of different teams, but I still hope the trinity setup will work out ok, better for the role playing aspect.
How much more DPS do the DK Tanks put compared to the all paladin comp? im running an all druid comp right now, just purely for leveling. have not started to do dungeons yet.
Yea, I have some DKs as well. I was smashing Mythics in early legion before the nerfs... Towards the end I was pushing 8+ with pallies 13+ with trinity, and I didn't get the DKs geared enough to compare, but did like 5+ and they were much higher DPS.Quote:

How about 2 Paladins+3 DKs or 4 DKs+1 Paladin. After i finish getting my 5 druids up i want to do a paladin/dk setup, just not sure which may be more beneficial. I missed out completely on legion, so i didnt get a chance to level any of the go-tos. (ie: Hunters/Dks/or Paladins)
Imo just play what you like the most.
Just make sure your lead character can tank if need be, and you also need one of the others to switch to healer as needed. My biased personal choice if i only were to play a 5man, would be druids, as all can switch to all specs and you can also choose to go ranged or melee dps when either is more prefered.
After running most of the dungeons on non-heroic (ilvl 310), several of them i had issues with to where i couldn't finish them. i decided that 5 Druid is definitely not for me. trying to keep up my dps rotations while keeping hots rolling is pretty rough to me specifically.
My recommendation is: 5x Prot Pal or 5x Blood DK, if you want to be able to queue for randoms with Dks use 1x Prot Pal + 4x Blood DK.Quote:

Just got them 120 today... it was painful for 118-120 you can tell your lack of new talents / itemization vs mob health scaling takes a hit.Quote:

I stick to 5 Enhancement Shaman, with the Earth Elemental you have a Pockettank whenever you need. The instant heals are great and there are some nice Azerite Traits for more surviveability.
5 Elemental Shamans might be stronger because of the ability to power up their Elementals, for M+ it is nice to have. Maybe 4 Elemental Shaman + Heal.

I think Druid is better than Monk after doing heroic/mythic a lot... Monks work really well with 4x Tank comps as a melee healer, or monk heal + 3 melee dps + tank where you drive from the monk and use CTM on the other 4 toons.
I think you will be able to pull of heroics with Pal/Monk/BM, but it's a lot of work. I think you will get more milage out of druid over monk. Mythic you will be able to do some, but the druid makes a lot of the fights easier with the remove curse + mobile AF heals.
Pal tank spamming Hand on themselves as part of the rotation is really nice to keep the tank topped up.
5x prot pal atm, progression from leveling to mythics has been pretty swift. (team is currently at 340ilvl average, dint buy a single BOE)
the main strength of paladins is just how well synergies work. we can get 100% out of the Grace of the justicar trait. currently my entire team gets a 7.5k heal every time i cast a judgement, then judgement of light gives me another average 5k healing per second. add to that double judgement from talents + resets from hammers and i can have a chain of judgements going out all the time.
that's without even counting healing from shields, vampiric procs and other sources. and i haven't even mentioned hand of the protector... which is supposed to be out main heal! some fights i don't even bother casting it. oh, and Last defended has no diminishing returns anymore... since we can already pull about 2x as much trash as a normal group, out synergies get even crazier. (in average +20%damage)
the most insane healing fight is Cragmaw the infested, and my team can do about 45khps... that's unreal. i can actually heal through a full tantrum worth of bleeds and explosions... and on the last pull i did i didn't even need to do bubble, LoH was anough since i still had my main DR button ready.

our healing at this point on the expansion is comparable to the healing of a helm+legs team on the last tier of legion... (which could autopilot on m+15...) and given how crap paladins are for normal play, i can see a buff in the future.
now im not saying we can do high mythics, in fact i don't think my team can do anything over m+3 yet. because we lack the damage... but considering that most other teams simply CANT do the instances... i think its not a bad idea to go prot, at least for the first tier.
Justicar is so OP that a 285 ilvl piece was still better than a 340ivl piece...
other things palas can do is get 5x Jes' howler trinks... the total Versatility gained by the team is about 8000!
using wings + Jes + pot + drums gives about + 80% damage. by the time it wears the average boss is at 60%... pots are crazy expensive, so i try not to go full out, im saving most of those nukes for m+ week.
Glad to see your success with paladins... Mine are up and coming, been focused on my trinity comp for Mythic+ stuff. Until I got about ilvl 330 I was pretty annoyed that I didn't get 5x Prot Pal first like I did in legion... Now I've been able to down every mythic, but there are some fights that I struggle with and know 5x prot pal would cheese it... Was excited to see all the judgement synergy.Quote:

What are you running for a talent setup on the Paladin group? Did they blow through normal/heroic in quest gear? Gotta say, you're making me consider a Pally team now that my Hunter farming team is topping out from WQ/Warfront gear. Time to work on something new :)
